    Cat food disposal

Can anyone suggest a website where I can offer cat food? Cat was on specialist kidney diet but charity won't accept open packets. Don't want to throw away 2 kilos of biscuits but they are not suitable for cat on normal diet.

Horse that goes introverted in the dressage arena.

Maybe ridden dressage just isn't her thing. Sounds daft but we had a cob like that. Warmed up fine, died in the arena. It wasn't fitness, training, nerves .... She adored driven dressage. Horses do have opinions!

    Hoof boots

Getting hands to grip hoof pick and manipulate it is the issue. Tend to drop hoof pick and generate lots of sweary words.

    Hoof boots

No, it isn't the knack - simply uncooperative hands! Pony is totally cooperative!

    Hoof boots

That is what pony has and we have tried using a hoof pick - doesn't help!

    Hoof boots

What are Cavallos like if you go through mud or water? Current boots are more like sandals, if you know what I mean, very open apart from under the foot.

    Hoof boots

How do they fasten? It is the fiddly wee fasteners on current boots that cause the problem.

    Hoof boots

Can anyone suggest hoof boots for a small pony which are not completely impossible to put on if you have arthritic fingers? Farrier is adamant he won't shoe until all traces of laminitic damage is gone.

For those actively looking to buy a horse - how hard is it now?

I am trying to sell at the minute, nice chunky cob, but not novice drive/ride. One person phoned and the first thing they asked was why was everyone wearing hats. Was he dangerous?

Horse diagnosed with ROA - is competition possible

Competed club driving trials, did driveouts of up to 10k, OH did unaffiliated dressage with a teenage cob who had what my vet had gone back to calling "the heaves"! She had an inhaler, sorry, can't remember what it was. Advice was to keep her as fit as possible.

Equestrian vet in Dumfried and Galloway

Thinking of buying a horse that is in this area. Can anyone recommend a good vet for vetting?

    Hoof boot question

Thanks for all of this. Will investigate further. Horse has lovely thick feathers which does make cleaning and drying difficult. Firefly - tend not to go up to yard until late afternoon and horse has already been out for some time. Would not be fair to have him kept in for most of the day.

    Hoof boot question

Horse is semi-retired, has never been shod, hacks out occasionally but is struggling with road work. In summer is out most of the day in swampy field with very sparse grazing which is ideal for him. Should make it clear that there are dry parts of the field but he and other native pony seem to...

    Hoof boot question

When horse is knee deep in mud, how do you use hoof boots? Worried about rubbing as it is impossible to get hooves clean and dry.
