They have ridden mine for me a few times as I don't really jump but my horse loves it. They are lovely girls and riders - they spend a lot of time getting to know their horses and have been very straight with me about mine. I only hear good things about them locally and wouldn't hesitate to...
Fabulous stories thank you! Working away for a day so asked OH to go to horse's field to check hay and water. Complete fail - he went to yard, took the highly strung bay mare (mine's a much smaller gelding) up to the field and luckily mine was at the top end so he realised his mistake, turned...
Tally Ho stables in Windsor has a fair few Spanish for hacking out in the park - you would need to specify that's what you wanted though when you book.
My friend has a new one and she has towed my horse a few times - its so good you can't feel the trailer at all and I'm more worried we will just forget he's there!
Thanks all for these suggestions. He has walked out in hand on his own. Going to get friend to walk out with us on the w/e on a route he knows then try some getting on/off techniques on our own. Good to know I'm not alone and it will just take some time.
My newish horse does like to be with his friends. He will lead out hacking in company and is fairly confident about traffic etc but he does not want to leave our yard alone. I don't want to force anything and for it to become confrontational - I'd rather build confidence. I'm spending time...
I am lucky enough to have people to ride with when I want to, but am happy enough to toodle off on my own when I want. It is nice to have company but if the group if too big or the horses are too on their toes I'd rather be on my own as I know I'll stay in charge!! Does help having a traffic...
 name change imminent!
Yes the comfy seats are padded right through - the dressage ones aren't which is a shame as they do slightly less frumpy versions.
Non horsey. He came riding once but thinks its a bit boring (no engine). He says he's happy to help with the ground work but has been to the yard twice in two years. He also says he's not scared of them and although my sometimes unpredictable boy was good as gold when he has visited, he's one...
Equetech Softseats have seen me through a couple of riding holidays without any issues. No wonder my husband soesn't mind me swanning off to Spain when he sees the undies I pack!;)
Yeah - me too. Did the same - lead horse to road, scramble on in an ungainly fashion, hack on roads as they were clear. He was good as gold for which I was very grateful. I'm going to start a campaign for roadside mounting blocks!!;)
He has been for the last couple of weeks but is calming down now. We are ok at a walk/trot but fancy a full on speed race everytime we try for a canter. I thought once he had a blast he would settle but just wanted more!! Still at least the bucking and leaping has stopped - roll on more turnout:o
I think the best possible approach to this kind of person is to say that you have asked your horses if they would like to meet her for a cuddle and they also gave a resounding NO for an answer....sounds like she will only take it straight from the horses mouth!;)
Mine's in his early 20's. Every summer I tell myself that he is slowing down as he chills out, and come December as we leap and buck down the canter tracks I tell myself he's fine. He is particularly full of himself at the moment and you are right - the older they are the more tricks they learn!!
