    could be anything from a healed over-reach wound to a big lump of cancer. Simple way to 'check' would be to ring the vets who looked at it for him and ask them what the notes say. You might need him to ring them first but he should be able to get them to email you a copy of the history

    Could you not have a word with your vet, arrange to do a 'call-out' at the end of the day when they have space to (maybe) do the vetting after. Then vet can have a look, if it's nothing to worry about then you can go on with the vetting. if it is something nasty you won't have to pay for a vetting..

    It is also worth pointing out that a farrier is not actually ALLOWED TO DIAGNOSE LAMENESS. Therefore, they may well be unable to do much unless you know why the horse is lame and a vet has instructed them on how to treat it. Just coming back out 'to have a look' would be pointless and...
