Friends at the yard have been riding him and keeping him ticking over but sadly he is def not comp fit or anything like that. I suppose I could suggest that although there is the issue of livery bills to cover as well.
Thanks for your input - all ideas gratefully received tbh.
Hi All
I have decided to take a permenant job in New York starting 1 December following a 4 month secondment there. Sadly I bought a new comp horse in June last year and need him sold - fast.
The issue is I dont really know him (he arrived the day before I was seconded) and he has missed the...
Hi - I did this a few years back - 5 of us went from my yard and we had a blast - its amazing to know that you can go flat out without worrying about the ground, whats round the corner etc. Do make sure your horse is fit enough to do the all weather gallop as well as that is AMAZING. Enjoy - its...
thanks all - candid talk with my instructor (Kit - you may know her - Sarah Millard?) in order.
Much appreciate your advise - no-one knows or cares about horses here and I'm finding it very hard to get impartial thoughts from people. My family and friends back home are freaking out....and my...
yeah the loan thing is a stupid idea - if something happens I wont just be abe to pop home and sort things out.
I could ask the girl who sold him if she'd help out - she's got a vested interest as she'll want to know where and to whom he is going.
Friends have kept him ticking over whilst I...
So.....I bought the comp horse of my dreams earlier this year - couple of BE points, couple of BD points, few pennies BSJA - perfect for me as an amateur who wants to have a go but has no real desire to do anything other than do well and enjoy novice classes at BE, bit of medium dressage, hunt...
I have just given back the PR mare I had on loan for 9 months.
Stable manners impecable - bit daft about silly things but mostly 100% genuine and unflapable.
Dressage - hated it - could work but chose not to.
SJ - jumped anything off any stride but could knock up cricket score almost without...
Depends on your agenda and the horse I think.
My old boy was homemade and we had a blast for a few years but suddenly when it became apparent he was not going any further due to his attitude it became very frustrating.
New horse has a couple of points and a good track record at novice - I am...
We use polyblocks or a barrel with a short pole balanced on top. If you have a floor helper try barrel jumping and see if you can get down to one - I find if you start with 3 then go down to 3 then 1 they get the idea better than just trying to start with 1 alone.
Another neat trick is to just...
Gorgeous boy - the right price for a lovely horse - its pretty clear why people are lining up!
Hapster - I sold my 16 year old last year - full wardrobe included for £1750 - the phone did not stop and so, cheesy I know but good home was more important than price, it meant I could choose who I...
AT LAST - I have a weekend plan that involves a horse!
Fly back from NY tonight, land at 7am, drive to yard and spend the next 12 hours just being with him and I cannot wait.
Sunday - the same!
