I have not been to Stafford but Belmont is a nice easy course for early on in the season, very short too so horses do not need to be over fit. If it rains the carpark can get boggy but the course always seams to hold out!

I have just re-registered too! it gives you more of an insentive to work your horses after work in the dark (well flood lit arena) and cold when you know the season is just around the corner!!!!
I would say £60 per week and shavings extra. but it does depend on how good a friend you are to them? You have to take into account your time and you do not want to end up feeling used or regretting the decision, which could damage your friendship.
I love using the passoa. I actually made mine myself (coping a friends). I got the pullies, rope and bungy cord from a boat shop and used an old flease girth tube. All cost about £10 max!!
