    2 of our boys, Sambertino (Samber-Wellington) & Samaii (Sambertino - Brentano II) are DNA tested as homozygous for black, so wont throw any chestnut foals - both of them have outstanding temperaments, as do their progeny. I have to agree with the other replies though - having a foal wont...

    Thanks everyone - much appreciated :-) Hi Kira, Don Ricoss frozen semen is in store in NZ with Angela Smith of IHB & he has foals in Australia & the US conceived via frozen so hopefully you should have no problems gaining a pregnancy with it! There are some more of his foal pictures here...

    THose with foals 8 months to 2 years...

    At home all ours - weanlings, ridden horses & stallions - get D+H Suregrow, or Baileys Stud Balancer with Readigrass or Graze-on & unmolassed beet, plus ad lib hay or haylage.

    Thanks for the lovely comments everyone Bon Balou semen is excellent quality - he has 7 foals due here, out of 7 mares inseminated & 5 took on the first cycle. This is a recent photo of him - he is rising 4.
