I was looking for a Tiguan, but sadly the only ones available in my budget did not have enough horse brake power for towing as they all seemed to be the Tiguan Match models so I brought an Audi Q5. It was just over budget but is an excellent car.
Roughly how long would you expect your horse to be advertised when on sales livery ? I know there would be an initial assessment/prep but when would you expect to see them up for sale?
That’s interesting as mine can be bolshy to tack up too and paws with her front feet. It’s worth a try I guess. Will discuss with vet and go from there I think
I am thinking about trying my mare on regumate. Once every 3 weeks approx she becomes really nappy and explosive. This morning had me off then galloped round the school like a stallion!
She isn’t particularly marish any other time and had her ovaries scanned as clear.
What’s peoples experience...
My mare had really runny poos when on the fresh grass. I kept her in for a couple of hours during the day for the first week, also gave her hay as some ‘dry forage’ and she had a gut balancer. She was back to normal after a week and has since been put on my grass and poos much better this time...
I am going through similar and have decided to sell my horse as I just don’t think we are the right match. She’s more of a professionals horse and needs a job to do , think she’s bored with me and I am just not enjoying it anymore so time to move on to a more suitable home.
After sadly making the decision to sell my big sporty ISH and ‘downgrade’ I have no idea where to look for low level RC types for hacking, fun rides, small SJ and dressage. Any dealer recommendations?
Even better if somewhere would PX but this doesn’t seem to be a thing anymore!
I pay someone to ride my horse. She will tack up but doesn’t groom but does wash her off after of sweaty and strips my saddle of sweaty saddle pad etc. she’s fantastic, so reliable and gives me a full report after each ride. I fully trust her and she has got my horse going superbly.
Sadly my mare deteriorated and we had no choice but to put her to sleep. I am absolutely devastated but have comfort in knowing it was the right time for her and she didn’t suffer for long and I was with her until the very end.
Thank you everyone. It’s extremely tough and can’t imagine her not in my life as it’s feels like she’s been here forever. She’s currently on bute and having a few days box rest to see if that alleviates the strain and hoping for some improvement. I don’t want to keep her on box rest for too long...
I am struggling with what to do for my mare. 24 yo, retired 18 months ago from ridden work as couldn’t keep sound due to coffin joint arthritis. I always said I would keep her retired as long as she was field sound. She’s never been 100% field sound but just tottery more than anything else. Last...
Mine started napping, then a week or so later I noticed she was dragging her toe and when stood she very slightly turn the foot of the affected leg out
