Thank you all so much for your replies. While he was standing I've had a real good feel around and can't find anything, he is such a sweet loving boy he doesn't object at all and quite happy to be poked and prodded. I've only had them 2wks but definitely not witnessed anything remotely frisky...
This may be a silly question but here goes.............. I live in France and have just saved a 5yr old Mini Shetland mare and her approximately 8mth old colt from the meat man. So, very relaxed laid back colt is laying on his back legs in the air having a full on belly massage when I notice...
Can anyone give me an idea of how much it would be to get a company to transport my horse to France (Dordogne Region). We will be moving at the end of the year and I just need a real ball park rough idea of what it might cost.
I have a 15hh Gypsy Cob, I've emailed a couple of companies but...
Thanks you are right my concern of the bronk is stopping me just leaning on her and throwing my leg over (physically I’m fit, flexible and in good nick!). This is what I did on the occasion when she bronked it just so happened that I managed to get my feet in stirrrups quick so...
Doing that she stands perfect while I lean over her. So frustrating. The split second a foot goes for the stirrup off she goes. Because of the bronking incident I don’t feel comfortable getting on without foot in stirrup I’m 55yrs and don’t bounce anymore I’d definitely...
Thanks. This is what we’re doing at moment but was trying for an hour and half today (3 x 30min sessions) and still didn’t manage to get on today.
Ive had my mare 7mths when I got her she would not be mounted at all, rearing up and spinning every time I tried to mount.(gypsy cob whos been badly treated)
Ive had a trainer out twice & things have greatly improved. She will now walk to mounting block, bring her haunches round and stand...
I know I'm sure I'm not the only one who hasn't thoroughly looked at whats in treats. Spend ages researching and making sure her diet is what it needs to be for her, weight, work, etc., and then pay little or no attention to whats in treats (all be it that she stole them). Lesson learnt.
Lol, Not just me then, I thought I was going mad blaming the treats. She’s a big old cob and she had some moves on her for a couple of days!! Nice half passes across the school which she claims she can’t do as she doesn’t understand what I’m talking about, which was all...
My mare exactly the same. I paid out to have sedated first time and clipped whole lot off. Mine hates her feet picked up but getting better by picking feet up every day and treating her. At first I didn’t even pick out her feet just lifted foot then put it down, moving on to a quick pick...
