    Hair regrowth

Megatek seems to have worked on one of mine. We clipped him out and changed his rug seeing as it was rubbing his shoulders a little. We rubbed Megatek into the rubbed bits and two weeks later he now has hairy shoulders which we'll have to clip off again!

A 'wow this lad can jump' type post!! and a kinda ad photo/how much??

I'd be happy paying decent money for him - at the end of the day it's the talent and attitude that counts especially in a gelding. You're not able to breed from him so if he's good enough who gives a monkeys how he's bred? I've had some fantastically bred horses who were quirky and completely...

    Event grease

I think it depends on the horse and on the course. Generally I'd grease Intermediate upwards but I might also grease a new novice horse or a small horse especially on the stifles and I'd grease the stifles if there were log drops on a course. That saying it's pointless greasing a horse with...

    BSJA venues in/around Cotswolds.

I'm having the same trouble getting my Intermediate/Advanced horses out jumping before the new season. We've got a couple of hours drive down to West Wilts this Saturday (16th). There are a couple of 1.20's and a 1.25 but some of the classes are restricted to those from Areas...

Ebay returns - advice required please???

Is the damage that bad? If they're competition boots then they'll get knocked around, brush marks etc the first time you use them. If you like them and bearing in mind that they will get marked the first time you use them then I'd go back to the seller and see if she'll give you a partial...

XXWide Electric tape or rubber fencing

I'm planning a big fencing session to subdivide 10 acre paddocks - can't afford stud rails/post & rail but I don't really like the 'temporary' effect of 40mm electric tape. All the posts will be permanent creosoted wooden ones - is it possible to buy electric tape which is about the same...

    Smoke detectors in stables

The problem using normal domestic ones is that a) we don't want 30+ horses in a panic if it goes off b)our house is about 100m from the yard so we wouldn't hear it at night if it went off inside a closed barn. I've looked on Ebay at various wireless fire alarm systems but all of the siren boxes...

    Dial A Deal Shavings

Does anyone have contact details for Dial A Deal Shavings who I believe are in Berkshire/Oxfordshire. Also does anyone know how much they charge per bale?

    Smoke detectors in stables

I want to install some smoke detectors in my American barn but want something that has the siren outside the barn - like a burglar alarm. Does anyone know such a thing exists?

    Ringworm

I had a horse come into the yard with ringworm in the summer and we washed it twice a week in Imaverol which did nothing and so we treated it with human athletes foot cream on the advice of our vet - I think it was called Daktarin. The cream stayed on well and it cleared up in about two weeks...

    Balancers - who feeds them?

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Highly recommend D&H Suregrow. All the same ingredients as balancers and is around £14 [/ QUOTE ] Golly, I must get it cheaply then, as I only pay just over £12 a bag! [/ QUOTE ] I use it for my eventers as it's the same as D&H Ultimate Balancer but I only pay...

YARD INSURANCE - who's the best?

Ha Ha! I'm with NFU! Maybe I'll ask for my account to be transferred to your local branch. I know these bigger companies are under an obligation to employ a certain % of the 'slower' members of society but they don't have to put them all in my branch!

YARD INSURANCE - who's the best?

Thinking of changing my insurers due to my current ones employing neanderthals and having a crap selection of tunes to listen to whilst passing the hours 'on hold'. I have an event yard and need public/employers liability, care custody and control cover for 30 horses and three full time grooms...

    Grand Hoof/Formula 4 Feet/Farriers Formula..

Having previously used Hardy Hoof for a year on couple of TB's with brittle feet with no real results I swapped to Grand Meadows Grand Hoof and my farrier has noticed an improvement in the amount of growth and the quality of the new growth after only three months.
