I used to ride there many years ago and it was lovely. I used to ride one of the working liveries and they used to let me tack him up as well. they had a lovely outdoor school too if I remember correctly. no idea what its like now though :)

thanks Louby. I have progressed exactly the same as you. she will even let me do between her ears but she just jumps every time I turn them on and off.... I will try cotton wool, thankyou

My mare is nervous to clip. although she stands still, she trembles and is very jumpy when turning the clippers on. as well as trying to desensitise her to the sound, I have been advised to try bandage pads in her ears to deaden the sound, however, can someone please explain to me how I make...

I'm thinking of entering some fun rides this year but how fit does my mare need to be to do them? currently we can only ride at the weekends due to no school and dark nights, for 1- 1&1/2 hrs twice a week, mostly walk and trot with 2/3 short canters. we haven't yet progressed to jumping but...

I am always a little nervous before riding - me and the toilet are good friends! lol. I find though that once I'm on, I'm fine. I am then in charge and my mare looks to me for confidence, especially out hacking alone. knowing that she is relying on me to 'get her through it' gives me confidence...
