    Back pain, not KS

The sore back on my horse was secondary to a sesamoidian ligament injury. Didn’t look lame to the naked eye, but located by nerve blocks

Highland ponies - tell me all

They’re addictive. I’m on number 3 now.. We sadly lost our first to colic, still have 2! One is an absolute tank, but like an overgrown Labrador! Loves to work, loves people, loves food!! He’s so much fun! Mare is a completely different personality, anxious and typically plants when she’s not...

    Strange allergic reaction

Also posted in vet.. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Swelling following the venous pathways? It’s worse on the left, but also there on the right. Spoke to vet tonight, and he’s had Bute and antihistamine, and she will come out first thing if no better. Never seen anything like it!

Wagon insured for any driver…but read the small print!

They only have to be named on mine if they have had an accident in the last 5 years. Guess this is going to make saying no to people who ask to borrow it as a one off..as some will have had an accident (remember any fault) in last 5 year!

Wagon insured for any driver…but read the small print!

The wagon policy I have I selected any driver with the correct license over 25 years. My own fault, I know, but I didn’t read the small print which also adds, that a driver needs naming on the policy if they have had an accident in the last 5 years. I naively thought that any driver over. 25...

Wagon insured for any driver…but read the small print!

I have my 7.5t lorry insured with Anthony Evans, with the ‘any driver over 25’ clause. I emailed them this week, to check if I needed to notify them that my husband was going to be driving it on L plates under my supervision. (I have class 2 license). They said as long as he has the C...

    AH Saddles vs Chunky Monkey

I have 3 chunky monkey saddles, one for each horse (2x highland, 1 Welsh d) and I like them! Fit well, and value for money. As with any saddle, the most important thing is that it fits horse and rider!

    Knee boots

I have to use the Westropp combined knee and brushing boots with my highland, and there isn’t enough differentiation between the knee and bone above it to get them to stay up.

Owning a horse is never a sensible decision… discuss

It’s definitely not sensible, especially when 1 quickly became 2, then 3! But..I have multiple autoimmune diseases, which could have broken me, physically and mentally. Having my horses, means however rubbish and stiff I am feeling in a morning, I have to move; and after being out in the fresh...
