After chemo I put on a lot of weight. I am 5' and went to over 12 1/2 stone. I was a bit of a blob and personally not happy at that weight with myself but equally not willing to make my life miserable on a constant diet.
Two years later, I am now down to just under 11 stone and working...
Normally October, I did this two years ago, had the biggest and the hairiest horses there and we had a great time, though not for people with horses that are not fairly bomb proof or steady types.
I have in the past had to remove the clydesdales feather for xrays and first removed all the long hair with sissors and then used clippers. If you want to blend in, take the clippers carefully down the legs in the direction of the hair.
You might get away with using the livery element...
I always give ad lib hay when in the stable. I am lucky in that our two despite being a cob and a clydie don't pile on the weight. Farra and Stinky had never been stabled when I bought them, and immediately took to the stable as they had constant food to eat.
They get their snack balls once...
I use the spray frontline as I find it very easy to apply and can ensure I have got it well into the hair. I then use P&S and have found that I have not needed to go back to frontline as long as P&S is regularly applied all year round.
Yard 2, and you may find if you ask if they could do one end of the day for you, they will be flexible so you don't have to go on full livery unless you want to.
Speaking from experience of being 22 miles - 30 - 40 mins drive from a yard, it is too much to try to do both ends of the day.
I...
Thank you, it was the best day of my live. Hubby insisted that Cairo was Best Horse and Jemima was Mare of Honour.
I know we all don't have hard hats on. Whilst no horse is 100% these two were 99.9% trustworthy and we only walked. Our little bridesmaid is now nearly 13 and competing on...
Sorry been hibernating a bit. He is very well, very hairy and very muddy and having a nice winter rest from competition. Plan to start out again at Easter.
Mr Stinky in October, living up to his name:D
Now you see why I would love a nice dark solid colour gypsy cob.
We have for the past 12 years had clydesdales and gypsy cobs which are coloured. To be honest, I would have loved them solid or coloured.
I have a big soft spot for a nicely marked coloured, though some of them are not always beautiful, just like any horse.
Anyway for the pic overload...
I have some grass mats and then on top of them I have the wonderful wooden trough my brother made. My two prefer to eat from the same pile of hay, so it is easy, fill up the trough and with the grass mats, it does not get too deep. Our winter field is fetlock deep in mud and water but at least...
I treat with frontline and then keep the pests away with pig oil and sulphur if you want the very long note I do about hairy horses legs, send me a pm with an email address and I will email it to you.
Go onto the Flyde Saddlery website - you can buy a hunter bridle, or if you prefer all the parts to make up one exactly as you wish. I have to use a mix of cob and full size for my trad, and full size and extra full for our clydesdale and they both wear Flyde bridles in the show ring.
Great...
Mine like bananas, oranges, pears, apples, grapes, blackberries, bit of melon, all root veggies apart from spuds, sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli. Don't feed leeks or onions or salad type foods. They also like bread which I leave to go very hard and then then chew away at a chunk...
I have our two large and wet horses on liverpool wood pellets. I have thick mats and I put a 3" deep bed over half the stable.
I start with 3 - 4 bags and top up with 1 - 2 bags on average a week. These are 15 k bags. Occasionally I do use 3 for Farra but she is a 17 hand clydesdale that...
