I wouldn't give 3 months off - a month off work and then hacking until you have daylight to commence full work again would be my choice.
It puts a lot of strain on a horse (heart, lungs, legs etc!) to come from unfit to eventing fit so maintaining a low level fitness can only help. Besides...
Mine has just started playing up too. I'm turning him away for winter now, he's growing like a weed and has made such good progress this year that I don't want to undo all my hard work battling with him.
If they replace your entry then you should be refunded minus £12 admin. They have a waitlist for the 90 - not sure about the other classes.

On the lunge over a pole using a voice aid. Then over a pole ridden using a voice aid as well as seat and legs. Eventually no pole and more refined aids :-)
Cantering out hacking is much easier for young horses - straight lines!
