    Moving yard and people

It was brutal and the last thing I needed was people I thought were friends judging me for being forced to sell my horse, when I was also losing my house and everything I’d worked 20+ years building. Horsey people can be very strange at times.

    Moving yard and people

I was only talking about this to a friend the other day. My strangest experience was when I was getting divorced and had to sell my horse, people who I thought were friends on the yard ignored me/were funny/plain rude. I literally no longer had a horse (or a house at that point) and they seemed...

    Which saddle for showing?

Pros and cons to both. The dressage will be more straight cut but will have the long billets and possibly large knee blocks. Where the jump saddle will be more forward cut but have the more traditional seat and girth. I’d probably go with the jump saddle as it’s likely to be less intrusive and...

    Equidry

I have the lite. Absolutely warm enough for me. I can’t imagine how warm the regular one would feel. I like to layer anyway but the lite is so warm and cozy and worth looking like a jacket potato. One of the best pieces of kit I’ve bought in years!!!

    Your horse live and HOYs

The parade of the Queen’s HOYS horses & ponies was on Sunday when she was posthumously given the HOYS equestrian of the year. Very emotional to see, especially with Stephanie Hill singing I Vow to Thee My Country and the photographs of The Queen’s life with horses, from childhood into her 90s on...

Market research, what do you think… can’t afford a horse?

For me personally, if I were closer to you it would be something I would absolutely be interested in. I have a 2 yr old and don’t want to not be able to ride for the next few years, so this would suit me perfectly as I don’t want to buy a second for a limited amount of time. I can’t comment on...

Why are people obsessed with owning a youngster

Easy, because you bring home a scared little Eeyore and in just 12 months he’s the most handsome loveable horse ever.

Do people not read adverts anymore?

I’ve found when sending any info out at work. If the important message isn’t in the first two lines it doesn’t get read. Probably the same with ads. People skim read.

Xtra Wide calf country boots recommendations

The Brogini Warwick boots are amazing, comfy, look smart, long lasting and fit wide calves. I can even wear my with jeans which is unheard of. Plus you can pick a pair up for £100 or less.

Reassure me it won’t hurt the 6ur old to stay unbacked…

I see we’re having another flare up of the forum herpes. He’ll be absolutely fine. What’s another few months? He doesn’t mind not being backed now rather than in a few months time. Sometimes life just doesn’t go to plan but you can still make it work long term and tbh backing a bit later is...
