    Ex-racers

I love them, I've had quite alot to do with them over the years and my current one I took on a few days after his last race. He raced till he was 9 and I've had him for 3 years. He flat raced so the idea of jumping was very new so he was like a 4yo in a 9yo body!! He was from a huge yard but I...

Shoppers! Hat help please - Charles Owen

I have just received my ayr8 and am well impressed. I did try on the wellington but rather liked the colour options on the ayr8 and the mesh doesn't bother me. In a country where hats are reserved for children and competitions (I am the lone adult hat wearer freak!) I have had a load of...

Buying a horse - how did you know they were "the one"?

I walked into a yard full of racers, atleast 10 on the left and same again on the right. I'd been told he was bay, well weren't they all! Saw Fridge on the far right looking at me, thought "if it's him he's coming home with me", realised it was him as we got closer, done deal. Total madness, my...

    Turnout rug for Thoroughbred

I like Horseware Amigos. My TB is 16hh on a good day and the fit him well because they aren't massively deep. Shiny poly lining means they don't rub and they don't break the bank.

does anyone's horse have an Italian passport?

Cuneo is fairly inland, if you may not apply for another passport then the Italian is, I presume, valid. If you want to pm me and send me a pic of the passport I can easily make a few phone calls for you.

does anyone's horse have an Italian passport?

The situation of passports has greatly improved here in recent years. It may as bakewell says, be easier to get a uk passport but if I can be any help from this end.. Changes of ownership apart from racehorses, is done by a society called APA, is there any indication of atleast the region your...

    Flying Fridge!!

Fridge horse seems to like his jumping, tiny jumps but he does seem to think they're quite big so tiny they will stay!! He's 12, flat raced till he was 9 and I got him straight out of training. I haven't posted for a while because I forgot my password when the forum updated and it took a while...

Tips for viewing ex racers straight off the track

When I was looking for one I was looking for something younger than the one I ended up with. I'd had experience of them but our vet told me not to rule out an older one because he was of the opinion that a good horse on the track is a good horse anywhere, physically and mentally. I know what you...

    Hat with washable lining

I'm a big fan of the charles owen adventuras, but can't find replacement washable pads anymore! Any ideas anyone? I also have a Uvex hat and you can take the whole lining out and wash it. Lovely. The washable pads or lining really influence my decision in hat buying (aswell as safety and fit...
