I don't pick her up. Occasionally if I'm out she will get picked up by one of those unwanted people on a walk. He's ignored the behaviour for six weeks and he's unable to walk her (old old old man ;) )

I actually find my collie is more tuned into me while on horseback. It's almost like it becomes a job for her instead of just playtime. All of them except tying up with reins. I never pick out feet. The only time my horses feet get picked out is when the farrier comes and even then it's him doing it! All feet still attached after ten years of horse ownership!

I live in the new forest where ticks are rife. I will find ticks on my dogs on a weekly basis. I've accidentally broken ticks many of times. Just keep an eye on it. The chances are slim, I'm sure it will be just fine. Not something I would rush to the vet over. Infact I think my forest vets...
