Another thumbs up for Best Friend muzzles. I tried a Shires and the horse rubbed it straight off. The bucket piece wasn't deep enough. The BF one stays in place and doesn't rub

I bought an double bridle Elevator without a throat lash and then had a double buckle strap made up which attachs to the bridoon straps and now I can use it as a snaffle as well. Two bridles for the price of one. Lovely bridles too.

When I bought an Ideal Susannah I also tried the Roella and it does have a much narrow twist so that may well suit you.

Actually they have to have seen the horse within the last 6 months now. It used to be a year, but they have tightened up on this recently. Sadly I seem to see the vet far more often than once every 6 months!

Check the digital pulses every day at the same time of day then you will know what is normal for your horse. The best place is at the fetlock. Ask someone to show you as you might not be sure you are doing it correctly. Any increase in the digital pulse could potentially be laminitis. Also...

My horse has had Cushings for years and I have ridden her most of the time when she hasn't been laminitic. I think if your horse is sound there is no reason why you can't ride again. You just have to judge it on a day to day basis and if the horse is enjoying itself.
