    Dog bit me

Yard owner 's dog bit me for a second time yesterday- it nipped round behind me when I came to the yard with her daughter and my grandson. It was deep so had to go to A&E for tetanus and wound cleaning. It bit me some months ago - again nipped round behind me and bit my leg although not as...

Been at my yard for over 20 years and one by one my friends

I am 57 and have a 30 year old cob- hack out on my own or with a friend - 67- and her 20 year old cob. Each pair adds up to 80 years and we still have fun- blethering and mainly walking along the tracks with a few trots. Long may it continue ! Lots of young riders at the yard- they do their own...

    Stumbling

Evertime I gow out for a hack my 27 year old stumbles. I cant actually see what his legs do but I feel a sudden dip downwards. He does not fall, just jolts. Any ideas? Had recent coffin joint imbalance but vet has said to keep going, in walk only.

    Temperature

My boy has a temperature reading of 38.9. He has no symptoms of any illness and appears normal in every way. First time in years he has had it taken. What do you think? He is a 28 year old cob.

    Stress Laminitis

You learn to live with it. My boy had it very badly, but is still going strong. It came as a terrible shock to me. Grass induced in his case though. Hopefully he will be fine and it will soon be a thing of the past.

    Pink Stain on Hooves

He has slight pink staining on the white back hooves, sound and happy. Farrier not bothered but I am told they are bruising or laminae seperation. Has yours got this and any thoughts?

I think I have lost my confidence

We all lose confidence at some time, just take it easy,go back to basics and relax. There is nothing wrong with just hacking, I do it all the time. I have had some bad experiences but tried hard to get back little by little and it worked. Its part and parcel of riding. Enjoy it and never think...

Can anyone recommend me a livery yard in High Wycombe, Bucks??

Not that its near High W, but before I moved to Scotland I was at a yard in Henton near Chinnor. There are 3 yards in Henton, all good and the hacking is great, along the Ridgeway and up Wainhill. Miss it but where I am now is amazing!
