ok so my Mum's started looking for a nice little horse which she can just hack about on.
We found a lovely little dales and we went to see him today.
He was advertised as a 7yo dales,15hh sensible ride,be an ideal childs pony a absolutely bomb proof, hacks alone or in company. Great to shoe, box, catch. Good on flat work, done a few small jumps. Ridden and groomed by small child.no vices, a real gent.
The whole advert was a lie :/
when we got there he looked a
Sorry state, slightly underweight grubby and in a poor fitting saddle.
The lady said he had never been shod but in her advert it said he had been, it also said good to box and she said she bred him herself and he had never been in a box but knew he'd be ok :/
then worse to come the lady was overly keen that she didn't want to ride him so I asked her daughter who reluctantly agreed, but got on.
We headed out on a hack & the poor little mite was terrified everytime a car drove passed he would leap to the side or spin in circles. He took off with the girl riding him and hit into a parked car we only went 5 minutes up the road but that was enough the poor thing had got himself all worked up & was spooking at everything that moved.
and when asked when he was last ridden, they said he hadnt been ridden in months. :/ and that no one really ever does much with him.
Extra glad I didn't get on now
