PL I am so sorry you have to do this. The CT covers the whole country. I got my old girl from them. She was fostered in Bristol came from the midlands and I had her in Surrey for two and a half years. Please don't rule them out.
I wish I could offer something x

Have you been in contact with the CT? They have volunteers all over the uk.

I think they were recommended to you when you originally became ill.

It was on the Kent County Council website and says it's national cover, Cornwall is only the headquarters.

The sanctuary is Cornwall I know that have walkers in Kent but none near to me, last time she had to go into kennels. Its more than just the walking, she needs a permanent home I dont want her going from place to place. Ive spoken to the Trust, waiting for further info. luckily I registered her some time ago so shes already on their system. Since then I found someone who said they would take her, onlyfor them to change their mind .

I can promise that in my experience she will be in kind good hands. Our girl Breeze had been in a nursing home with her owner until he died. She was fostered in Bristol and came to us about 3 or 4 weeks later. They brought her down to meet us and our other dog and she was just perfect. She returned to the fosterer for 10 days because I had to travel to Spain (my father was ill) for a week or so and didn't want her to come to us without myself and my husband there.

She arrived the day after I got back and stayed for the rest of her life. My only regret is that we did not have longer with her - two and a half years. Her picture hangs in the hallway and our son-in-law has a picture of her on his beer fridge! He loved her. When she went off her legs and was going to be PTS that afternoon I told my neighbour who told other neighbours and they all arrived quietly to give her a last stroke. She was PTS in the hatchback of our car (hated going into the vets) lying on a duvet with her companion our JRT next to her. We still miss her 6 years later and often stroke her picture.

I am sure your lovely girl will be as cared for and loved.

I realise this must be so so painful but I hope this will bring you some comfort PL x hugs x

I’m so sorry Penny Less.

Might it be worth asking local rescues to post on their Facebook or Twitter to find someone to give her a home or if they know of anyone themselves?
I’ll also ask a couple of friends down your way if they might know of anyone too.

ps one friend is putting feelers out and asked if she is ok with other dogs x

I'm so very sorry that you're facing this, PL. I can't begin to imagine how you're feeling. I wish I could help in some way, it breaks my heart to think of what you're going through on your own. I really hope that a wonderful home is soon found for your lovely dog. My thoughts and prayers are with you. xx
