I've arranged this not knowing where we'll be living and if we'll manage to keep ponies?
Also done points : 2 and 3
wink.gif

I reckon we need to stop else we wont have anything left to do come...tomorrow! And then we'll go spare!

Sorry guys, didn't come on last night. Glanusk is the Glanusk Estate (Legge-Bourke country), a beautiful and large Estate about 2 miles West of Crickhowell slap bang on the A40. Look it up on Multimap
smile.gif
NOT 10 miles from Chepstow, may be the same course designer but frankly if that's Eric Winter that's fine by me - he didn't do a bad job at Blenheim
wink.gif
Actually just remembered, it isn't him anyway, to the best of my knowledge it's David Evans and his sidekick Jamie something or other.

Sleepingdragon, Stafford is LOVELY, one of my fav's
smile.gif
The BE80 is a really nice course, nicely built, flowing and not at all twisty! The Sjing and dr is on flat ground and they work really hard on it! I will hopefully be at both of them!

Yep sounds a good plan to me
smile.gif
It has a bit of everything, eg a little sunken road, a skinny(ish) fence, etc etc, but all is quite inviting IMO...

Lovely
smile.gif
i'm lucky as I have access to a set of xc jumps with lots of variations (Logs, sunken road type, barrels etc) so he'll be familiar with most types of jumps that he may come across on an actual course

Well that's good news - I guess BE have just lifted the details from Chepstow and not put one of their little *NEW* tags on it for reasons known only to the powers that be (they are nothing if not random!). I actually thought the course design at Chepstow was excellent, no complaints at all, I just disliked seeing horse after horse (and experienced ones at that) jump nicely through the combination into the water then disappear when there was no obvious rider/horse error, and when I asked the organisers about it I was most dissatisfied with their answer as they were very dismissive about it. Had it not been for the water (and their attitude to changing/investigating it) it would have been one I would have entered.

That wasn't Lottie with Darrak's Tonto was it? If so, I can see why too as I saw the fall, it was a completely freak accident but pretty horrific for pony and rider. Nothing she did wrong, and incidentally, nothing to do with the water itself unlike a lot of people, as her fall was at a fence which was part of the water complex but takeoff and landing were on dry land.

Anyone know anything about Burgham, Northumberland? That's a fairly meaty investment if they're running everything from PN to Advanced.

Got to admit i haven't heard anything other than from a non-horsey friend that its a cracking golfcourse - So at least the ground should be good

The BE calendar has left me feeling wholly uninspired- no new events in the South from what I can see, we've lost a few and the ones that are left I've been to several times over.
My intermediate horse looks likely to have a light season.

Stafford is lovely but it is also long and hilly so quite an ask fitness-wise. Sunken road did cause some probs for the BE90s and 4yr olds - don't know whether it was in the BE80.

Woooo, I'm overly excited already!

Chuffed that Turnberry is 1st of the season & great that Greenfields is doing BE too. Its 10 minutes from my house!

[/ QUOTE ]

Well here's hoping they find somewhere decent to site the dressage and show jumping for Greenfields as the arenas for the Area 1 eventing left a lot to be desired! Needed a horse with two short legs and two long legs....
