2015 aims/goals?

To buy a lorry and get out to some competitions without having to rely on others please.
Plan to do some dressage and course hires to start with and then hopefully BS late summer depending how the baby (4yo) pony goes. Fingers crossed 2015 will end with me just as excited about her future as I am now

To get my new baby pony sound would be a good start. Had her 2 months and she's thrown a splint and is lane with it. Gggrrrr.

If we can get that sorted and she stays sound then regular lessons, hacking out so she gets to see some of the world, and get out doing some intro and prelim dressage and some novice showing. May or may not do some jumping too as long term aim is M&M whp too but it's not a priority this year!!!

To have a sound and happy horse!! With the amount we have been through in the past 18 months, we are lucky to still be here. If all goes ok, qualify for either Novice BD regionals/Petplan and start jumping again (off through injury) and for my friends horse i'm eventing for fun, be safe and successful at BE90 and qualify for regionals :)

Well bill and I managed to over come a particular hurdle that was going to be my aim for 2015, on our very first ride of 2015 :p

We cracked HP in trot! For ages it's been a block for an unknown reason but on the 1st he gave me a pretty decent HP in trot - maybe not test standard, but it was a recognizable HP and felt good :D
He always finds things easier in canter, so fingers crossed with a bit more practice and fitness we will be out at medium in no time:)

In other aims for this year, we hope to go have fun eventing in the summer and play dressage horse as well :)

I want to get my xc mojo back .All I want is 70/80 cm . I am now too old for the big stuff and simply wouldnt survive. I want a rider to take my horse forward as he is an xc machine(jumps everything clear first time) and a sj fanatic(he knocks them down but never stops),Oh and a complete dressage numpty!Basicly a typical eventerbless him.

I'd like to get a half way decent dressage score in my indoor trials. Pony's a sweetheart in all other ways but clearly hates driven dressage and turns into a plank :( Also want to get the Standard Shettie going, don't mind whether ridden or driven and get to a few shows with him.

A slight change of direction for me!
I'm scaling down riding/competing after the winters. Plan is to put my mare in foal and then spend some time doing judge training, UKCC and helping my eventing friend, with a view to scaling back my other work and building up some freelance horse stuff.

Sadly we ended 2014 behind where we started it (more details here: http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?687595-Long-time-no-see). So, my only goal really is to get Cam sound again and build him back to where we were. Obviously qualifying for Area Festivals again would be nice, and actually participating this time, but that will all be a matter of timing and whether he comes back ok.

Good luck to everyone else, hope you achieve your ambitions. :) xx

Think it would be interesting to see how we all get on int 2015 so must try to remember to resurrect this thread at the end of 2015!

OOoh yeah, definitely!
Always wary of setting targets or goals with horses now, especially after the last 15 months which have been plagued by injury. But, subject to final vet check next week I hope that Millie will be back to competing, hopefully tidy up her changes enough to start advanced medium fairly soon and in terms of training I'd like to start tempi changes.

Armas still on holiday post sarcoid treatment, so am just hoping that when he comes back into work he's not gone backwards too much. It would be nice for him to get some good scores at Medium later in the year.

Kira cob is making slow progress.. aim to get her out to some shows. She has a good level of ability but is green as grass, so I'll probably start with some Novices to give her a bit to think about.

For me, to continue our learning, and crack the tension when we go to a show. So starting the year off by booking every weekend out with either a prelim test somewhere, or a lesson/clinic....!

If all of the above goes well, then ultimately to do decent BD prelims and take our journey on from there!

I want to get my rising 4yo ridden away and perhaps to a couple of low key dressage comps towards the end of the season depending on how things go.

With my mare, I really want to get her canter cracked, and to get her out and about DR and SJ and hopefully a ODE by the end of the season - though as I don't jump it will with a friend doing the riding ;)

For me... I'd like to be able to hack out by myself without having a meltdown, and I'd like to have my first canter outside in about 3 years (damn nerves)

For my 5yo ex racer to start his eventing career and be confident at BE100 by the end of the season, possibly even 5YO Quals.

For my 9yo get her confidently competing at BE100 and possibly push to Novice if I can locate my big girl pants!!

On the way if we can secure a qualification for the Badders grassroots I'll be rather pleased :)

Oh and show my 2yo again at some point... not my most enjoyable aim!

For Dee (youngster) to qualify for the summer regionals at prelim and the area festival at novice. And to be jumping an amateur 85cm or british novice by the latter part of the year.
For Jenny (OAP) to keep enjoying life and keep her sound. She's doing the odd day hunting, and still goes SJ the odd day and the odd hunter trial through the summer...

To have fun, move up to BE90, do pairs hunter trials with partner, most of all to have sound and healthy horses. But I find that my plans usually go awry due to injuries etc so I try not to plan in too much detail.

To win the national team chase champs - sadly unlikely as my immense older horse has had an injury and will have to sit it out. I have bought another to fill the gap, but he's never team-chased so it will be a big ask. We're going to give it everything we've got though!

And to finally ride in a hunt race - I don't have a great record in this sphere as I have entered 4 so far but they've either been cancelled or I've had an injury.

Mine is to keep paddy sound and happy (he had navicular & kissing spines so had 18 months off & I started riding him again in February 2014)

Aims for 2015:
To qualify for BD area festivals
To be able to hack on our own without paddy having a hissy fit
To do some more jumping & perhaps some jumping competitions (if I feel brave enough)

And most of all to enjoy him & have fun together!
