3.5 tonne self hire business?

Hello,

We’re thinking of potentially buying a 3.5tonne box to rent out of a self drive/ hire basis. There really isn’t that many around here and quite a few people ask for them.

Has anyone done this? It doesn’t need to be massively profitable but equally don’t want to be sitting on a loss either.

Any guidance/ opinions welcomed!

be prepared to do plenty of repairs or not get too attached to your box looking nice.
Before having my own I hired regularly from a local lady and she found a ridiculous number of people would cause damage and then kick off about paying to fix it.
The last time i hired from her she had just had to get the whole back wall replaced on her new bloomfields box as someone's horse had kicked right through it and they had tried to hide it!
