Tali has a gorgeous face!

Viewed potential share horse and feeling really excited about it! Immediately got a good vibe about the owner and other people at the yard, and the horse was lovely. We just did a walk hack round the local roads and a little trot on the way back. I felt really safe and comfortable which is saying something because I really lost my nerve last time I was riding out on roads (previous share had hacking virtually all off road). We did have a couple of 'am I going to pass that road marking?' moments but I felt able to firmly answer the question with 'yes!' and we were all good. The last viewing I did I came away feeling a bit hopeless but this is the exact opposite. Did I mention I was excited?! :D

I pulled out of ND because the forecast was dire and I didn’t want to risk ending the season on a bad run.

And then it was abandoned anyway. The last competitor to complete was scheduled just before me - number 817! I was 818 and no one after 817 went XC. Lucky I didn’t shlep 2.5 hours each way just for a muddy dressage test in the pouring rain.

You definitely made the right decision. Both my friends got to run but cannot understand why you would want to risk your horse in that weather, each to their own I guess! The comp I was supposed to go to today was cancelled yesterday so ended up hacking out in torrential rain, joy!!

A bit of a mixed day for us yesterday.
A 28 dressage even though I managed to go wrong and got a deduction!

First sj down as he just wasn't concentrating, he has to own the fences however a lovely rhythm all the way round.

Arena eventing, started well but then had a bit of mare as for some reason he wouldn't change leg which he normally does immediately.
He got quite upset about it which was bizarre and we never really got our rhythm back so a few poles down and a bit 'blah' but they aren't machines!
Anyway, we WON with the 90cm team and I wasn't even the drop score so felt a bit better and apparently now we will be off to national champs!

We had a lovely hack out with 2 others on Saturday. We all took turns going first, middle or last, and the horses were all fine. So another little progression. Amber also managed to lead home through the village for the first time, so very pleased.
Then yesterday, we had a lovely 5-mile ride around Thetford forest with another friend we've not hacked with before. Amber was happier to follow yesterday, and the rain wasn't too bad :)
It's re-invigorated my riding mo-jo after show season; I'm hoping it's doing the same for Amber.

Really pleased with my 6yo at Bicton 2*. Dressage continues to show glimmers of what it will be in the future, he showjumped really nicely but had an unlucky couple, then jumped foot perfect XC in the most dire conditions!!

I’ve now got my pony back with me for a couple of weeks for post season vet check and roughing off before his holidays - so I get daily cuddles with my boy! He has done a lot of sleeping today ?

New puppy came as chief support crew and we even managed a quick trip to the beach after dressage on Saturday .

Just going to quickly sneak this in... it's half term for me so have been rather busy.
Firstly Shambles: we were booked in for a pole/jump clinic at the yard on the Saturday, but it was cancelled last minute. So we (7 liveries) decided to club together and run our own. Got all the poles out and ran through some patterns. He finds it tricky when there are lots of poles and can get a bit anxious, but he did well. I then helped some of the others with some jumping. Just a nice relaxed afternoon at the yard - it's one of those rare ones where there's no bitchiness and a great group of people.
Then yesterday we boxed out for a lesson. Only our second with this instructor as he's pretty expensive, but it is worth it. Sham is quite weak after a virus in the summer, so focussed on suppleness and straightness. He tried really hard and had some lovely work.

Then Belle was out showing on Sunday. It's really not my thing, but wanted to support my local riding club, although they had a really good turnout, with some local 'pros' in attendance. She was awesome - going round in circles really isn't her idea of fun, but she held it together and went really well. Originally pulled in 2nd, but dropped to 3rd (the pro did a much better individual show so we switched places). Still waiting for pro photos to go up, so just a grainy still from the vid.

Then today she was back doing what she loves - jumping. We haven't jumped since July when she was diagnosed with stifle arthritis, and she was right back into it. Just need to build up the schooling fitness now, and get the canter stronger. Instructor who hasn't seen her before thought she was fab, and such a fun cob.
