4YO killed by dog

I heard he was in the army? Makes you wonder why they would take on a moron like that.

I think I read somewhere that the police were considering classifying dangerous dogs and dangerous weapons or something - because it is daft that someone can't carry a knife, but can walk around with a killing machine.

Then, if the dog attacks someone - it's ABH/GBH on the owners part?

Of course, i could have just dreamed it.

Sadly these attacks are not the fault of the dogs themselves but those that keep them in unsuitable environments. As already said, it does seem to be a certain section of the community that suffers from these attacks - because the owners can't discipline themselves let alone train a dog to be well-behaved. That Uno killed a cat, was not his fault - his owner is entirely to blame.

As with guns, it is the personal handling it which is the danger, not the gun itself. As a result of numerous gun incidents, many people have lost their pistol shooting - all down to a few irresponsible folk. Why should dogs have to suffer a similar fate.

Until some form of licencing is brought back these incidents will continue.

I don't really have much to add here but just think it is so so sad. Why this little boy was up at 12.30 at night when he was only 4 and left unsupervised with what was an obviously aggressive dog is beyond me.

Just awful.
