5* Vetting missed major problem, where do I stand?

She will be pulling shoes because her feet are too long, get farrier to give her a good short trim and replace with correct size shoe, keep hind feet short so she wont overrach, the damage could be a possible 1/4 crack forming from the overreach

Not necessarily and a 'good short trim' could be detrimental to an already lame horse, I really don't think you can say that without even photos/seeing hoof in the flesh.

Here we go again, my opinion sucks, its just my opinion, use it dont use it, but this is usually the reason for overreaching......obviously an experienced farrier would decide before he gave it a good short trim if that would be detrimental........

No one is saying that, just that making such a statement with limited info about what you should get the farrier to do is a bit OTT. - Much better to say that she might be pulling shoes because of that reason rather than will be surely?

Agree with this many things make horse pull off shoes .

We know the old owner, personal circumstances meant that all of her horses had a season off :)

Do you know the old owner well enough to find out exactly what the deformity was caused by and whether it has been a problem before?, although I assume they would have mentioned it at the time if they were honest people....in which case, maybe they weren't quite so honest about why she hadn't worked for a year.

Regardless, it would be really nice to see some pictures of the deformity :)
