So took my mare for a scan today to check on the foal, shes at about day 58.
She'd been to the stud for the 14 day and heartbeat scans, but thought I'd have a check at my local vets now.
Vet put her hand up ands said yes she could feel a lump and the fluid so deff still in foal. Then scanned her for over an hour as there was problems with the scanner, said she could see foal legs etc. then she couldn't, then said she could see fluid. Then ultimately said she didn't think she was in foal any more but said herself shes not the most experienced scanning at this stage. She said its very rare to lose a foal this early as they usually lose them day 80 when the endo-something cups form. Got her booked in to the stud tomorrow for a proper check, with experienced stud vet.
Any body had any experience of problems at this stage?
Absolutely gutted as it was both our first experiences with breeding!
