I posted here when i got my puppy, alex, at 8 weeks, got great advice on toilet training, sadly, none of which has worked. She's now over 7 mths, she was born on 1st december. My head is fried, have tried everything i can think of, she will go to the toilet every time you bring her out, but will go again within a minute of coming in, regardless of the time spent outside. She is on the verge of being relegated to the garage, as I am sooo sick of cleaning up after her. Never had this problem with any other dog. had her checked by vet, no problems. He actually thought i was mad for having her checked, but i wanted to make sure that there wasn't a physical problem, any help seriously gratefully appreciated!!!

No, she's not attached to me at all times, but is crate trained. She has no issues with the crate, it's when she is free that there is a problem. It's so frustrating, as she is so good every other way. I wish she'd bark, or scratch at the door when she needs to go!!!!

Mine never ask to go out. What do you mean she goes outside and then again soon as she's in again? Could you leave her out for a good hour reward her every time she goes so you know she's defo finished if that makes sense.

She needs to be attached to you at all times. Tie a leash to your belt.

I am afraid this is the only solution with some dogs. I had to do this with Betty for about 3 weeks but that way she had no accidents in the house anymore and it got her out of the habit. Also you need to thoroughly clean areas she has soiled, I ended up having to throw away the carpet as it was beyond redemption.

my whippy took a long time to be clean..we just cleaned up and ignored, praise when she went outside
i dont allow either of my dogs go upstairs just in case of any soiling(kids locking them in etc) we have wooden floors downstairs
i also crate both overnite,up at 6am ,put out for a wee etc, brekfast out again

you could either as some suggested tie the dog on a lead to you or keep the dog crated but put out freguently so breaking the habit..most dogs wont soil their beds

when shes outside make a command eg wee wee 'hurry up' and when she had a wee praise her..hopefully she'l soon get the message
dont tell her off if she does to a wee in the house or if you can catch her,put her straight outside
mine now will wee on command
take water away overnite or a few hours before settling down, feed abit earlier than normal, put her out/walk for toilet then put her in crate

My Patterdale bitch didn't start asking to go out for the toilet until after her first season when she was 7months-ish, and she's not gone in the house since. Well except for yesterday when she peed on my daughter's Patterdale toy dog after she finished humping it (mortified admitting this, do other peoples dogs do it?)

She's a jack, right? Hard to toilet train sometimes.
OH's bros dog is something similar.
As mentioned, you have to watch them at ALL times when they are out of the crate.
My fella peed a few times in the house but it was my fault for not watching him. He doesnt ask, dogs aren't all wired like that, I have to watch him, he circles, sniffs, OUT, pee time and use a word like 'pee pee' when he is doing it and lots of praise.
He has been dry in the house for weeks with this method.

You have to be consistent and you have to watch for the warning signs or else you are setting them up to fail.

I've got two that are 4 months old and I thought they were house trained until it started to rain frequently last week, now they've decided they dont want to get wet and have started going in the utility room despite the back door being open 24/7. Its costing me a fortune in dettol and kitchen roll!
