Hope the move went well and that Ellie has settled into her new home nicely!

Awwww bless you, thank you so much for the post! I was just about to make one; am glad I scanned down first!

Ellie is one very happy bunny - she's already acting like she's been there all her life

She had a bit of a snort when I led her out of the trailer, but then proceeded to walk into her new stable, grab a mouthful of new hay as she went in (mmmmn, tasty!) and then pin her ears back at her new neighbour as if to say, keep your nose out, this is MY home

She ate up well and YO says she was happy as larry when he checked them all late last night. This morning she went out in her new paddock and was exactly the same - calm as she's ever been, just put her head down and started grazing without even bothering about the other horses in the neighbouring fields. She also had a roll - something she has not done at all in the last couple of weeks at the old yard, which is interesting!

OH and I had a trip to Countrywide, where I managed to spend £90 on 'essentials' for the new yard and stable

I bought a plastic wardrobe thingy for the barn, where I have now put all her rugs - absolute bliss after a year of storing them in the trailer! We also got a saddle rack and a bridle hanger for the tack room, and a HorseLyx holder for her respiratory lick. YO has been most accommodating and doesnt mind us drilling holes in his walls! So she now should be fully kitted out - except for the rather nice new Masta Regal rug which I intend to purchase sometime soon....

Thank you so much for asking; I'm really touched

Piccies soon, I promise! I didnt really have time today (if you can believe that!) will get snap happy as soon as I get a minute

slinkyunicorn: Her leg seems to be doing really well - it has made a huge difference for her to be out all day today, that's for sure! There's still a significant swelling there but it is getting cooler and smaller every day

Hopefully going to start riding again next weekend!

Pleased to hear that - I bet you are both looking forward to exploring your new hacks.

Absolutely - although I'm gutted that we're forever going to have to be careful about what we do and where we go now - the vet said that the leg will always be a weakness now and that I must watch out for any tell tale signs of strain - if we still show jumped like we used to, it would have been curtains for that
frown.gif
But, as long as I can get her fit and strong again without anything going wrong, I cant wait to get exploring again! I went to by a new OS map of the area in the village shop today and it was £9!!! Am hoping I can find it cheaper elsewhere

I'm sure you will both soon be bouncing around the countryside enjoying yourselves!!

The only thing I do know is the slower you take things the better the end result! I'm sure you will.

Have a chat with others on the yard - they might have on you can borrow - we do at our yard.

Yep - time is the best healer, that's for sure! I'm just glad she's happy again, and I'm glad I can go away for the day and not have to worry that she may be getting kicked, or that someone will be bringing her in without me knowing, etc etc. I feel a lot more in control again!

What happened to her leg MizElz?

[/ QUOTE ]

Long story!!! She was kicked by another mare in the field - she'd paired up with another horse and this mare just took aversion to that and basically kicked the sh*t out of her. We thought she'd broken her hock at first but luckily it turned out to be a lot less serious - she lost her chestnut, had several gashes all down her leg and a large swelling where her tendon was bashed - this swelling is still there but ever decreasing, so we're just crossing everything now that she will be ok! The vet said he couldnt believe how lucky she's been, either that there was nothing broken and the fact that she didnt rupture her tendon

If you go to multimap.co.uk they give you the option of OS map so you can do it all on line for free.... Hope this helps...
