seeing as he and I seem to have acquired horses with supermodel figures. ;)

So here is Cal: this is before, 4 weeks ago when he arrived:

And yes, he did eat all that haynet - in about 3 hours actually - and then the same amount again that evening with a late night top-up to keep him going till morning.:p

And this is after, taken yesterday: I know my Baydale standards mean that I'm used to seeing them look like show hunters, and he's still far too lean and lacking in muscle for my liking, but oh my goodness can he eat?! You can almost hear all the other well-covered/big-boned horses on the yard tut with disgust at feedtimes when they see what he gets.

Disclaimer: I'm a lousy photographer and couldn't get him to stand but trust me, his legs and feet do all point in the same direction. :D

No jumping photos but have some vid of us clear round jumping at Vale View last week. Please bear in mind it was the first time I've jumped a course on him as I've just spent time getting him to chill since he arrived. In the second round he was dead keen but Caroline wanted me to "suggest" that he accepts my input a little more. ;)

Ooooh what a scrummy shiny pony. I'm with TD, some more meat and he'll be delicious on the BBQ. Presumably none of the others have come down with horsearexia in an attempt to get in on the over-feeding act?! :D

TD/deskbound - he is scrummy, isn't he? :) As for the others, even with some serious sucking-in of tummies and mournful looks, none of them would be able to kid me that they need anything other than Belsen-sized rations.

I have to confess that gorgeous and shiny though he is, he did rather stick out like the proverbial when I saw him, compared to the usual Baydale Boys!

Unfortunately I also saw the downside of 14 haynets a day - a LOT of skipping out at evening stables  :p

Wow, looks loads better than when he arrived, and in just 4 weeks. I think he looks an alright weight, although good luck maintaining it when the hard work begins :p I am a TB girl though so might explain my liking for the skinner ones!

Wow!! I'm completly shocked at the condition he arrived in :(
He's beginning to look smashing tho, what a smart horse he will be!!:)

He just sticks out because he's the wrong colour bay, that's all. ;) We've started with the secret weapon now: boiled barley and linseed. :)

I thought you would probably like him as he is! As he's only 5 I don't think he's going to work that hard this year, so I'll just get him flabby and happy and leave it at that. :D

Looking fab. Is your grass coming through as well, its amazing how fast they can pick up at this time of year.

FIona

Thanks, Fiona; it is coming through but the problem is how to get him having enough and the other three...ahem....larger boys not having too much. I bet you have the same problem with your two, don't you?

Yes - a problem I haven't found a solution for sadly.

I can imagine HH shooting him filthy looks at his portions :D

He is looking loads better. 4 more weeks and he'll fit right in with the rest of em  ;)

Oh yes, HH shoots daggers at him whereas Marty looks wistfully, and Jupiter hopefully, in his general direction. It's hard to visualise him being a podgy little butter ball like Jupiter though.

Wow he is looking good, had to look twice at the pics, I have his twin (in looks) in the stable, would quite happily pass him on to you...........

No it, J, the project pony, well 16.3 project who has got his hooves well and truly under the table, daughter has fallen for him big time:D:(:D

(H bomb, the home bred has gave me the cheap plastic surgery job on my nose, he has actually got rid of the bump at the top, but the black eyes have been spectacular:eek:)

Looking GOOD. Wish mine would eat constantly. :o
Are you doing an equine version of the TV program 'Supersize vs superskinny'?
Zed is comming on nicely. Latest pics in the training vid thread I put up. Dont know if you manged to catch it before it disappeared several pages back.
