A bit of a how much??

I am very very close to getting a lovely little cob I have completely fallen for but thought I would get a general idea of what I should be paying for him first!

He is a 12 year old, 14.2hh (possibly just over) brown cob gelding. He is a real chunky sort with plenty of bone and is the kind of pony you could just take out for hours and he wouldnt flag! He is a complete confidance giver, hacks alone and in company and doesnt bat an eyelid at anything! He is more than happy to plod along but will really shift when you ask him to... with good brakes. He will jump a decent sized course and doesnt stop (have seen him jump but i'm not much of a jumper!). Perfectly behaved in the stable and field. He is a very easy and kind pony whilst still being very fun and cheeky! I dont know how he is to load or travel. He falls asleep with the farrier and is fine to be clipped.

Any ideas on pricing? I will reveal what he is up for after afew suggestions!

Oh he also comes with all tack (fits him well but is worn) and rugs.

I would say with tack about £3K, I sold a very similar mare without tack for just under £3K last summer.

He is up for 3500, but i have been told the owner will accept considerably less as she needs a quick sale. The owner is selling on the basis that he comes with a grands worth of gear.... but i know his gear and it is not worth that.

I think I will offer 2500 and see how that goes

I would say if you got him for £3000 you would be doing very well, sounds like a corker! We sold a similar chap but younger and coloured for £4000!

He really is amazing! He is one of the liveries at work and I have completely fallen for him! I took him out on his own to see how bombproof he really is and he was a gem!
We went past some pigs that were screaming and running around he didnt even look at them! We had to walk through loose sheep on the way home and he just looked at them and got on with it!

He really is just what i need, safe but fun! My OH has applied for a loan to get me him (Lucky girl I know!)
