I'm unfamiliar with it myself having refrained from spending £149.99 on a DVD and rope halter but there must be some good principles in there somewhere, right?

Any Parelli defenders out there?

"I'm sure that in the beginning their intentions were earnest"

That do ya??

I've always been a fan of it, but never admit to it on here otherwise I get my head bitten off! Recently got into IH which I liked. I know its not parelli before someone corrects me.

And to this day I still believe that I have 80% of all that training (from my lovely parelli and NH instructor

) to thank for still having my horse today

Must add though, saw my riding (parelli) instructor at a show recently and she was telling me she was starting to jump with no bridle and what not, just using carrot sticks....hm...strange things entered my mind then when picturing it lmao!

Only thing I like about parelli
"A horse should lower its head to be bridled"
or something along the lines so a 17hh horse can be bridled by a 4ft person . . i think thats what they meant.

Pat does a stellar job of flapping his elbows as he rides ,and NO ONE can stick their legs out in front and pound the cantle better.
Not to mention his uncanny ability to fleece the ignorant like docile sheep so well.......

Can't stand this money making hype or the robotic switched off horses it produces who are too scared of what happens if they get something wrong.

Something positive about it? I'm positive this particular branch of horsemanship is not for us.

I am fairly new on here and wonder why a lot of people do not like parelli. Sorry to hijake the post, but I am curious.

Oh dear, how long have you got hb6, there's a lot of Anti Parelli threads on here. There's loads of threads about it. I summarised my main thoughts about it in my earlier post on here.
