Please be kind to her as she's only 9 years old and Oliver's only been backed a few months. Not to mention we've only had him 4 weeks.
Hannah was being taught by her instructor to get him to bend through his body, not his neck, with using her legs and not by her opening the inside rein too far and making him fall in....then using outside rein to hold him out and create outside bend through the neck. It was new to her to be asked to ride in this way and whilst she was learning, she was also trying to teach that to Ollie at the same time.
I'm posting these videos just so you can see the glimpses of promise that there are in his movement (I swoon at his trot). Hannah's confidence is increasing each time she rides him. Her old pony was a very complicated mare to ride. It's not perfect and yes there are mistakes, but she is learning and found yesterday's lesson not only hurt her legs (she was complaining this morning!) but also mashed her brain a little.
Also, we need a new girth. It was her first lesson in the new saddle and the girthing system isn't quite the same as her old one, which meant the girth was a tad too long, which made the saddle flap a little.
