Hi
I'll try not to make this too long...
A friend of mine had someone out to do Bowen therapy on their horse as the horse was stiff, uneven wear in his shoes, plus other symptoms, basically all indidcating a problem with his hips. The bowen therapist come out 3 times to treat the horse, which isnt cheap.. the horse had risen energy levels, but was still stiff..
I decided to have my horse checked over by the same person, as i wanted to check his back was all ok as i was also having a new saddle fitted etc, so wanted to make sure everything was ok. My horse has had 2 treatments now. the person fitting the saddle also checked my horses back and said said he was not in pain with his back even though he drops away more on one shoulder than the other, which may improve with the new saddle anyway.
the thing is my friend with the horse has since had an osteopath out to see their horse and they have discovered that the horse has a twisted pelvis!! and is now being put right by the osteopath.
My dilemma is.. that shouldnt the Bowen person picked up on something as major as that?? I feel for my friend who has obviously shelled out hard earned money with not much of a result, and i'm now doing the same, and now wondering if i should cancel the two other treatments my horse is due to have... i dont want to appear to be dismissive of Bowen or anything, but then i dont believe on chucking money down the drain if i thought she wasnt benefitting from it... i dont know how to cancel my appointments without sounding negative about it.... errr help?!
