Now Sarnie is always whinging that she could do so much better with a decent jockey, but who would she choose? I am not sure when push comes to shove she shouldn't appreciate what she has got, she gets away with murder and takes all the credit for the good performances and blames the jockey for the bad ;)

Out of the pro eventers I am a great fan of Lucy Wiegersma but Sarnie may be a bit small for her. I think though Daisy Dick might have enough of a sense of humour and be sensitive enough to put up with her. For me I would love to see her ridden by Laura Bechtolsheimer as I am sure Sarnie can do dressage and I would love to see her with someone that can really get her working - Sarnie on the other hand may not be so keen!

So if you / your horse could choose an alternative jockey who would it be?

He would opt for the lady amateur flat jockey who did under 8 stone on him back when he was a racehorse rather than somewhat more than 8 stone me.

I always wanted to see John Whitaker ride my grey. I'd have loved to have seen how much jump she had, with a rider who didn't miss! So, of all the showjumpers, him, by a mile. Of the younger ones, Ben Maher, fabulously stylish and never looks flustered.
Eventers - Ingrid Klimke or WFP.
Dr riders - Laura B, she may be young but I think she has an amazing talent as well as a fabulous attitude to the horses, or Isabell Werth.

Interesting question! I am 100% sure that Rauti would love to be ridden by somebody with an incredibly perfect, quiet, precise seat, who is always clear with his aids and never raises his voice -- Hubertus Schmidt would be his first choice! He would really thrive with such a rider (what horse wouldn't!).

As for Frodo, I am not so sure. Somebody young and fun who would also take him galloping and jumping every now and then? Uhm... think think... Ingrid Klimke :D

Vittoria Panizzon would love Poppy- V is great on zippy pingy little sensitive thoroughbreds. They would be a super combination together.

As for my new horse- he would need Oliver Townend to bully him and get every ounce out of him!

Len would like anyone with two brain cells to rub together, who doesn't ride like an utter blob. (Unlike me)

I would love to see Geoff Billington on him :o Or John Whitaker, for the same reason os K's (although I'm sure I miss at least a hundred times more than you, K) But I would love to see what he could do with a Classical Dressage rider, I find it fascinating :p

Probably someone like Emily Llewellyn or Pippa Funnel. Actually thats probably me talking... I would love to see either of them on him. I think they both sit so well and are both confident without being cocky :)

I think my boy would love AP McCoy. He's been ridden by some big names in jump racing (robert thornton, mick fitzgerald) and I think AP would enjoy him :D

Saying that I'd love to see Pippa Funnell on him. He's a big strong lad and she's done well with big strong horses in the past (primmores pride springs to mind).

hmm, dressage wise, it would be charlotte Dujardin - she has talent and is excellent at bringing on young horses, sympathetic too :)

Eventing wise, I don't know! WFP probably, as he is quiet and consistent :) plus, since billy is so big but very athletic, WFP might actually fit on him :p
Other than him, most likely francis wittington :)

Lol Kerilli, I love it that you think of her as an eventer, while I think of her as a dressage rider -- such AMAZING talent!

Yes, she is utterly awesome. I guess the only times I see/hear about her are her eventing exploits, does she do a lot of pure dressage too? I know her heritage obv, but I thought she'd defected to eventing... ;) ;)

So far, we have John Whitaker, Ingrid Klimke, Vittoria Pannizon, Pippa Funnell and WFP in joint first place with 2 nominations each... ;) ;)

Would love in The end to race buster under rules so after last night would love to have AP on board if not would hve to be one o the younger lads as he's a bit of a lad and you need a sense of humour to ride home and enjoy him!!

And Song, needs someone tall and quiet so WFP but do like Daisy dick from Reading her eventing blogs!

Think Millie would be happy with a really forward, confident and tidy jockey- someone like Francis Whittington.

Vinnie more difficult- he prefers women and can sometimes take a little time to work things out (to be fair, at 18hh his feet are a long way from his brain :)) so someone like Pippa Funnell who would give him the time and think outside the box if needed.

For my TB, he would love Laura B as she rides so beautifully but meticulously - you have to be very precise with him or he throws his toys out of the pram!
For the Welshie, another vote for Oli Townend. My boy needs a kick up the backside :D

I would absolutely love to see Guy Williams ride FH as he is so quiet is beautiful to watch ride and he is lovely to his horses. I would like to see Phoebe Buckley event him though as she is well known for riding some horrors but working through it :)

William loves being ridden by a friend of mine who thinks he needs kid gloves. He goes into economy mode big time! I'm not sure he feels the need to be ridden by anyone more ambitious than that! I wouldn't mind seeing a man jumping him, my sj trainer would be the obvious choice. I'm too selfish though, I wouldn't want to see him going a lot better for someone else than he does for me.

I know the feeling, nothing worse for making one feel inadequate as someone else hopping on and instantly improving things that have been a struggle!

Yes Kerilli, she does! She is always competing a few horses at the BuCha BOTH in dressage AND in eventing, it's quite a feat actually (even only logistically.....the finals are on the same day!). She produced the stallion, Damon Hill, to GP and was doing very well with him (was in the German B team, it was only his first season at GP!) until the owner gave the ride to Helen Langehanenberg.

I think eventer would appreciate someone that was not thinking about what may happen to little person if jockey got squashed. When you're older priorities change I think and certainly I find the bigger courses now get my tummy turning more than before. I think he's more of a ladies ride, and needs someone who'll be sensitive. I think one of the younger jockeys coming through - Emily Llewellyn possibly.

Event pony would like a good gutsy PT rider - Holly Woodhead or Sophie How.

Baby eventer I think would do well with a quiet male rider like Francis Whittington.

I reckon that Phoebe Buckley would love to ride Mini TX' mare. After all Little Tiger is ony 1 or 2 inches smaller than her, and she is like a rubber ball, really supple and as honest as the day is long xc. Dont think she is quite in Little Tiger's league somehow. I would love to see Laura B ride her as well. Her dressage is lovely and I would love to see a 'proper' dressage rider get the best out of her. However at only 15.2hh, I think she would be totally different from the sort of horses Laura normally rides.

My old boy would probably love Mini TX to be his regular rider, except she makes him work harder than I do. She weighs considerably less than me!

Frodo - she also had that belgian-bred horse by Randel Z that went to GP, and then that GB rider in Germany with pots of money (Fiona Bigwood?) bought it and rode it twice or something? Can't remember the horse's name!

I would really like to see WFP ride one of mine, particularly PP, as he's so quiet and balanced but I think his feet would touch the floor so realistically one of the pony eventing riders; it would be really nice to see if they could get her to go much better than me :).

Ah, Nector something! Was that him? wait, I'll google him --

Nector van het Carlshof! Not sure who he went to?

I really think H would work well with a sympathetic male rider

following the World Equestrian Games Showjumping Individual Final I really can't fault Philippe Le Jeune - I didn't really know of him before but i have huge respect for him after his performance on All the horses to the degree if you watched just the rounds you probably couldn't tell which horses he hadn't rode before.

also on my short list :p would be Ben Maher and Alex Hua Tian and Tim Lips so i can drool over him whilst he's riding my horse ;)

Would love to see Andrew Nicholson on my mare. He would accept her as she is and not try and change her way of going which to me is key to gaining a horses confidence. If a horse doesn't have a natural "showjumping canter" then don't try and change its way of going, accept it for what it is and work with it not against it.
