I'm not sure anyone is interested but I'm so proud of my lout that I have got to share.

Lenny pretty much had most of between mid september and mid december off, I scrambled on occassionaly but just pootled round.

About 2 weeks before christmas the yard I was at became distinctly unsuitable for lout and I had to move him.

We have moved to a lovely small yard (6 horses, 3 of whom belong to the yard owner) that has all year turnout (even if it is only for a few hours) and turnout in a group and best of all an INDOOR school.
I brought Lout back into work just before christmas, then took him home to north wales for christmas.
On boxing day we had a lovely ride on the beach. A friend of mine brought her 17 yr old to babysit Lenny but it ended up with Lenny doing the babysitting!

After the new year I found a new instructor who realy gets both of us and the difference in Lenny after only 2 lessons with her is enormous!
He can bend and is realy starting to use his back end.

I'm so proud of him, he has grown up so much and puts a smile on my face every single day, he seems to take the world in his stride and even big lorries full of gravel roaring past him far to fast dont warrent getting upset, nor do men using chainsaws less than 20ft from where he is tied up and sleeping!

A very superior class of lout, you have there! Congratulation for persevering with him.
Both of you look as if you are enjoying work and play, and that's one of the most important things. Well done!

SadKen,
He earned the name lout in the first few weeks where he was a bit of a thug to handle, couldnt be kept in a stable (he would jump out) etc. Not unexpected in an almost unhandled 4yrold horse who had been living out for the last 3 years with almostno human contact but still enough to earn the name.
Since settling down he has proved to be an angel but the name has stuck!

yep very much him. The first few weeks were extremely difficult but now he can be handled by a small child and happily takes himself into his stable!

Yes. I knew he would end up nice as you have a good eye for these things but I still am in wonder how people can 'see' the potential in some horses (no disrespect to Lenny!)

WelshD, Its all about seeing beyond the hair to the angles of what is there, the bare bones litteraly!

That and I'm an absolute sucker for a nice eye! cant go wrong with a horse with a nice eye on it!

3 Beasties, yep the first picture was in the 2 seconds he stood still (lots of apple involved in the taking of the photo) on the day I went to see him in Ireland. He had been herded in from 800+ acres onto a lorry and then into a stable and a headcollar shoved on him that morning. It was all new and exciting and he struggled to contain himself but he was such a lovely person and very curious about these funny shaped things that wanted to poke and prod him and wanted him to trot like a sensible pony (didnt get to see much trot but did knowhis canter was lovely!).
The second photo is when he arrived after a nightmare 15hr journey (horrific traffic), he was massivly dehydrated and had the transporters very very worried as he just would not drink anything offered to him (took weeks for him to realise what a bucket was but only 30 seconds to realise where the auto waterer was!)
It was in those first 2 weeks that he earned thename lout!

A few more recent photos of him, hopefully his clip will grow out soon (was clipped beggining of Jan) and he will look half decent for his first HOYS qualifier.
