I’d like to introduce someone to you all…

This is Nutmeg, a 7 year old welsh a (I assume cross shetland) who I collected today. Very sweet but very nervous and needs some TLC and more handling. She’s come to hopefully try and get the girls a bit less attached to each other in time. For now the focus is getting her to trust humans a bit more.

Aww she looks so cute do you have much information on her history

She’s only been with the people I got her off for 4 weeks. They bought 2 horses (I think they buy and sell) and she came with them. They have kept her for a few weeks to do some handling and sort her feet out but didn’t have space/time for her long term so they wanted her to have a nice home with someone who could spend some time with her.

She loaded like a pro and travelled home like a dream, not one peep out of her. She is very nervous of being touched so having to leave a headcollar on at the moment so I can get hold of her, but she is the sweetest little thing. I’m guessing she’s probably just been out with minimal handling.

Thank you all for your lovely comments :)
Little Meg is doing fine this evening. She’s still wary about being touched so I’m not forcing the issue at all. I went in and poo picked, checked her water and gave her more hay, then just spent time chatting to her over the door.
The girls came in for the night and met her. They’ve been on their own in the barn for 5 or so years now so they were quite shocked by the new arrival but settled within a minute or two.
Just before I left, Meg came over to me at the door and reached up to me with her nose, so that’s massive progress as when I first arrived this evening and went in, she hid in the corner of the stable.

I’m just going to take as long as she needs as there’s no rush. Once she is happy to be touched, I will get her out to walk and hand graze. Hoping by the weekend she might be confident enough for a couple of hours in a paddock next door to the girls.
I think there’s a really sweet little pony in there and I’m looking forward to seeing her come out of her shell 🥰
