righty ho, i'm out of my moody with HHO. cos i had a little lesson on raff yesterday. i walked, trotted and even did poles... without crying, snotting or spewing.
he was, as always, perfectly behaved. and did his best beach donkey impression to keep me safe.
my knees were gripping, my lower leg flapping. my hands and arms were shaking. and i formed an almost foetal position most of the way round. but i did it. and i am very very glad i did.

now, for the big news. we've got someone coming to see him this evening... she may be interested in loaning him. i had him advertised in a few places, and have had lots of (mainly strange) emails/calls, but in amongst the weeds was one that really stood out. so, i'm feeling a little bit hopeful. whilst i can't bear the thought of him going (and bejeeeezus there are a lot of stories on here of loans going wrong), i know it'll take the pressure off me, and he will LOVE the work and attention. and i'll only let him go if it feels 100% right. and i'm going to get references (girl in question has loaned from some fellow HHOers before...) etc. eeek. exciting? scary? both...
wish both me and raff luck this evening, i can't imagine anyone NOT loving him...
ps mini rant - if someone advertises their horse for free share or loan... and it's an excellent opportunity... i don't think sending emails saying nothing except 'can you send me photos of your horse' are a good way of indicating your interest. end of rant
