Morning
Thought I'd write an update on my mare who came out of racing 8 months ago. Don't know if you remember but I was lied to by the dealer and found out after 5 months of ownership that my horse hadn't been re trained or let down after racing (had gone to the knackers yard!).
I paniked and had her 5* vetted, which she passed, stopped competing her and went back to basics with her flatwork. Before I found out about her history I'd been treating her as a green horse but pushing her and she'd started to loose confidence out competing as a result.
So, she's been for a holiday at a friend's house where she lived out, did lots of hacking and learnt flatwork basics
Here are some photos:
She's back at my house now and I'm going to continue to take things slowly with her. We're going to do lots of flatwork, lots of hacking and a bit of jumping. I'm also going to hunt her over the winter
So hopefully by next Spring she'll be ready to start competing again.
Thanks for reading
