Well we have a diet plan and if that doesn't start to show an improvement (ie no more weight loss) then we will rethink possible a steriod trial.

so he is getting 1.4kg of calm and condition (dry weight), 1.4kg of fast fibre dry weight), split into 2 feeds a day. with 2 scoops of pink powder and 60mls of NAF EnerG. He is staying in overnight so i can see what he is actually eating and he gets 2 sections of horsehage green and 2 sections of meadow haylage. he isnt eating all of his grub but most of it. he still not enthusiastic about grazing and spends a lot of the day dreaming away. so i am not convinced that there is nothing wrong inside but i am going to give the vets suggestions a try first.

the vet wants me to get saracen equijewel can anyone give me some feedback on this? i am worried about spending £30 on it for him to turn his nose up as he doesn't like any nut form of feed. though he will eat it if i put it in his ball (strange horse)

Haven't seen your previous post but as the owner of a non-foodie oldie which spends a large portion of his field time snoozing, I can say that Calm & Condition and, in his case, Fibrebeet, really did the trick. Good luck.

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooove Equijewel!!!!

Has helped put weight on ex-racer on box rest, and he's stayed sane :D

And, has helped put weight on Dizzy the dingbat stress head :D It's not heated her up at all :D

Both nice and steady. You feed quite a small amount (small pellets) and all our neds like it when they get chance to try some :D

We feed it with Saracens Releave.

Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it :D

Sorry if I'm going on, but I have tried soooooooo many feeds and spend a fortune (Dizzy's feed bill alone was running at £100 per month at one point!).

Another vote for Equijewel.

I fed it throughout one winter when nothing would get weight on one of my mares. It really did the trick, and no wild side effects.
