Again I am justify myself to someone I have never spoken to and has never spoken to me. I just need to realise everyones a critic and I need to accept that there are a million things wrong and I am an easy target !

[/ QUOTE ]

Or perhaps you need to realise that not everyone is criticising merely trying to share their own experiences which are similar to your own and offer some helpful advice based upon their journey.

You are right you do not need to justify yourself at all but when people take the time to write a carefully thought out post then perhaps a thanks would be nice,,,, even if you don't agree

I have to ditto Kibob here, I don't think Scallys post warranted that retort Ishy - you are very sensitive of Sol, maybe you need to share your progressions with your friends and close ones, who DO know how hard you are trying, rather than with us, because inevitably most of us don't know you well enough to comment !

She is so beautiful Ishy, hope you two can make it to Machen x

And this is why I don't ask for advice anymore because my head is full of it . Yes I was sharp with Scally but as you can probably see i'm not really in the best of places right now and yes that isn't an excuse but there you go people don't know me and yes I come across like I know nothing on here but I genuinely am slightly more knowledgeable than I appear so I do know that things aren't ideal and the more people repeat it the more apparent it becomes

Honestly thats fine... I don't have the best people skills at the best of times and today hasn't been great in general so they are somewhat lacking on the whole !

This is the thing , what am I meant to do ? PM the people that have genuinely offered their help and support ? Because yes thats what will end up happening and that is fine .. God some people on here have been more help than people at home with everything has happened with Sol . So yes I do like to tell them how she is getting on ! I will keep it to PM next time and won't have this again.

I have even admitted I shouldn't have posted this ... I knew this was going to happen but I was proud of her yesterday.

My bad.

I don't think you shouldn't have posted it, but maybe because you are stuggling so much with trying to do the right thing, perhaps it wasn't the most prudent idea - because for every two people who will understand, there's one who wont! Normally, thats probably not a problem, but it comes over in your posts that you are very anxious that you are doing the best thing for Sol, which makes you react the way you do when people critisise.

Personally I think everyone should be able to post what they like, but thats not always the way here - on both sides of the coin and feelings sometimes get involved.

If you ask me, which you aren't, your safest bet for positive encouragement is to perhaps post and ask for people who would like an update to let you know and perhaps link to your facebook albumn etc.

I only feel that you are getting upset by the negative comments, so thats the only reason Im commenting!

Yeah its probably the wisest bet . As I've said and I'm sure it comes across in all my posts I am currently a gibbering mess when it comes to everything to do with Sol.

Until i've sorted everything that is going on in my head I think its best to take a step back and avoid the problems.

I am (now) very aware I can't take criticism when it comes to Sol , I thought I could but I can't , however prepared I think I am for it .. I either read wayyy to much into it or it just upsets me.

Will remember it all in the future and quit while I'm ahead !

Oh and PS (are you showing or jumping at SBEC on the weekend?)

I very rarely reply to your threads as I am not one to post "ooh what a lovely horse" or "You're doing so well with her" anyway, to anyone, 1 because NOONE knows whether they are a lovely horse just from pics
wink.gif
and 2 because no-one knows HOW well anyone is doing with a horse just from photo's! However, other people like to share their experiences and views, and that is what you are going to get by posting anything on here. TBH, from the statement you have made above about being over sensitive and no-one knowing the full case etc etc and not having met her etc, I do wander WHY you post except for getting the "She's a lovely horse/You're doing so well/poor you" responses.
confused.gif

Sorry if that sounds harsh, and I wish you the best with her, but biting peoples heads off for replying with something you dont like is also unnecessary.

As for the PM's maybe its concerned people who dont want to speak their views on the public board so it doesnt turn into a full on bunfight? I dont know obviously cos I'm not at the sending or receiving end
wink.gif

Anyway, pleased your happy and hope everything continues to go well

No it doesn't sound harsh and tbh you are spot on. There is no reasoning to my posting apart from the fact I am proud of her and want to let the people that have helped me know (and if they had a problem would PM me with advice and yes I guess
I do like showing of my horse because she is beautiful

I don't mean people have PM'd me advice because up until a few weeks back advice was gratefully received .. I just have had a few vile PM's telling me in no uncertain terms that I have single handedly brought all these problems on myself which aren't constructive at all.

And now you have only ever been helpful with Sol so I wouldn't ever think you'd send the kind of PM I mean

hmmm I feel for you actually. You didn't ask for critique or opinions, you just wanted to share a proud moment - why people can't just say 'well done' I don't know. I think people can tell the difference between this kind of post and a 'please advise me, critique me' kind of post but too many people on here seem to feel they have to prove their knowledge with every post even when it's not asked for.

I don't know ANY history on your horse or it's problems, but I could tell from the post that this was a significant moment. It's not rocket science.

As for the stupid PM's you've had, bin them in the 'meh' bin!

Yes , that was the exact meaning of my post , it was indeed a very proud moment (probably on par with backing her - well nearly
tongue.gif
) so I thought to balance up the post I make on doom and gloom I'd post a happy post..

PM's have well and truely gone in the MEH bin slowly proving them wrong anyway

Send the B'stards my way.

Its astounds me how much grief you get on here on open, but you get more in PMs???!!! Some knobheads ignore laminitis, showjump on lame horses, hunt totally unfit horses, have tack that doesn't anything like fit, etc, etc.... I could go on all day. Could the moaners please direct their concerns in their direction and leave the OP alone? ISHY, please stop going to the trouble of explaining yourself to people determined to disapprove of absolutely everything. I really think Scally was just trying to be friendly and helpful, but as for all the other negative comments, please just dis-regard them.

By the way on your video Sol looks lovely and big moving for an unsound horse

Yeah I was rather taken aback that people not only had time to but actually bothered to PM me rude messages ! I have lots of time on my hands but certainly wouldn't bother
shocked.gif

I have no idea (and now don't want to know!) why I get so much grief it amazes me that my topic has now had 1200 views (thats more than I had in my whole HHO history before Sol broke I think
tongue.gif
)

Am waiting for the vet to ring me back about her not being right not sure if it is actually pain or just her way of going now
confused.gif

If you noticed , what leg did she look naffed on now?
blush.gif
tongue.gif

I do wonder what she'll be like when she actually is sound , Walk and Trot dressage champion here I come
cool.gif
grin.gif

I have apologised to Scally (via PM) as I was very curt with her and now I do feel very bad

Sorry, I meant she really doesn't appear at all unsound.
blush.gif

Believe me, there are lamer horses out at BE.
smirk.gif

Never mind walk trot dressage, if she's level on tight corners, there's no reason you couldn't do up to novice dressage IMO.

She's sound out hacking , I know that much ..
grin.gif

She's been hacked 4 times a week and I only took her in the school so she could have a canter so when she offers it out hacking she is allowed to (an I won't fear being catapulted into space!
tongue.gif
)

In the school its dodgy because the surface is crap especially in the summer (hence why I don't lunge anymore) so she can appear alot worse than she is.

Will get Alan to come and check all is ok though just to put my mind at rest , already grilled the farrier this AM about things (they love me, honest!
smirk.gif
).. A hasn't seen her under saddle since she went to Langford (as I refuse to ride infront of him!) so hopefully he will be pleased with how much more 'relaxed' (well compared to before!) she is

And yes , we will set the dressage world alight ... or not
