A poem for my horse that i lost :(

Just wanted to share a poem for my beautiful girl i lost recently

Its been 2 months now since you went away,
The sky has been dark and the clouds have been grey,
My hope and my happiness is completely redundant,
My tears are all that i have in abundance,
The trees have been bare and the rains falling down,
The sun doesnt shine now you arent around,
I remember the last time there was sun in the sky,
We were stood the field where i kissed you goodbye,
You stood and you grazed, your coat shining bright,
I held round your neck with all of my might,
I could not believe that it was the end,
As i said goodbye to my very best friend,
We were always together, we made such a team,
You were my pride, my joy, my childhood dream,
We never spent more than a few days apart,
You going away has broken my heart,
I hope one day we will be back together,
But im missing you now for what feels like forever.

Thats lovely I had my old boy PTS end of summer 2012 and I still get such sadness too. I keep hoping it gets better but deep down I do feel so lost without him. I guess it will get easier and I did try to find another but not so as yet. I hope one day I will be able to give another one a good home.

But that is lovely poem. Sorry to hear about your girlie. Perhaps they are both up there together with all the others. Good to share..thanksx.

In Memory of Diamond Light

A Treasured Friend and my Soule Mate
Blessed was the day you came into my life
I will treasure this day for ever and for always
You accepted me as I accepted you
I trusted you as you trusted me

Together we travelled through fields high and low
The wind in your mane blowing it in my face
I clung to your neck as we ran swiftly through the grass
Your hooves barely making a sound as we were in full flight.

You are as gentle and loving now as you were all those years back
Never been any sort of animosity towards me
You are the perfect companion for me I hope I am the perfect friend for you
You have looked after me through thick and thin
As I now have to look after you in your time of need.
You are so brave despite the pain
You maintain the brightness in your eyes and the will to fight

I am here for you always my love
And always will be for as long as you need me
I will never give up as long as you have the will to live
I have the will to nurse you
I hope and pray
That maybe some day
will see you running free again
Someday soon
Until the time comes to say goodbye

Sadly the time has now come
I have done all I can for you darling
Your pain will soon be over, but mine has begun
You’re a fighter darling big and brave
My world will be an emptier place without you

I have a horse teetering on the brink at the moment - well bred winning ex-pointer - really successful career - but now 21 has Cushings and developed moderate/severe laminitis. We will do everything we can to pull her through, whatever the cost, she is such a beautiful mare! My daughter wants her put down as she cannot bear to see this lovely horse suffer, but I will do everything I can to give her a good, well-deserved life.

Thank you, Farma. Hopefully she will be fine. She has improved slightly but to to see this stunningly beautiful mare suffering is heartbreaking. I will seek whatever corrective shoeing I can to sort her. She's still too young to die. Until this, she always rode as though she was heading for the start of the 3.20 at Kempton, if you know what I mean! Problem is, we cannot get her to take bute, even syringing it into her mouth....she stands there for ages afterwards dribbling it out of her mouth. We have tried everything. Vet is out again on Monday. Vibes for Lizzie (Scare McClare), please! We love her so much!
