A sad day for us, daughter has finally accepted she has grown too big and heavy for her tank like 13.1 NF pony.

How do I decide how much to sell her for?

The positives are many, she was bought as a confidence giver, ace at gymkhana, done all pc/rc stuff, jumps double clears (but child doesn't like jumping so she hasn't done much of that) hunts, helps round up the wild NF ponies on the drifts, races (handicapped by weight of her rider, but she can shift) a joy to be around on the ground, good in all ways, non marish, bred one fantastic foal. Fantastic in heavy traffic goes alone or in company. etc etc etc. 9 years old. Seems to adapt to her rider in how she behaves. A real fun pony, absolutely honest, genuine and completely wonderful in every way. Would suit all types, from another nervous kid, an adult rider who doesnt' want any hassle, to a competitive child to bring on further and "specialise" her in a discipline.

Negative - mild sweet itch, which we deal with by sticking a boett on her. This is her last August, you wouldn't know she had SI if I hadn't told you. We feed her a sugar/cereal free diet and stable her at night throughout the year (she's a good doer too), but whether those last 2 help with the SI is a matter of conjecture...

So, how much would you say? Sorry it took so long to read.

I'd say, having scrutinised prices thoroughly all last year, that she sounds a gem and great for any little rider, safe and good to handle. However with the mild sweetitch that she'd probably be the sort advertised at £3500-4000ish with the boett rug included, and I'd expect her to sell quite easily as she sounds the sort everyone wants

Thank you, that's about what I thought, having done a bit of internet research earlier on. Very relieved to know a couple of you agree with me. There are going to be a lot of tears shed over this one, they've started already when she told me tonight she'd actually felt too big on her.

how old is she?

assuming sensible age I would guess 3k would be a good starting point for asking price atm.

I love that daughter is jumping her with arm in plaster

I know of a very similar pony that sold locally for £3000 - people will pay alot for a safe sane pony. Good luck finding a new home - an ad on the pony club website and put out the word at PC/RC seems to work well.

Pony is 9, but quite low mileage. she didn't do much before she had foal age 6, then came to us after foal was weaned...

Broken wrist was not caused by pony, but by falling off next door neighbours' weird garden toy...

I'd say give her away to a very nice 11 year old looking for exactly that..... LOL. Joke obviously.

Probably about 3.5k...only because the market is so pants at the moment tho, if it picks up maybe about 4-4.5k?x
