I have not ridden Blue - except for round the field a couple of times - for 6 years, due to him being 22, 14hh and previously had laminitis (I'm 5ft6 and 10 1/4stone) but today i just randomly decided i wanted to
It was amazing! He had his ears pricked and nuzzled at me when i brought his bridle out and stood stock still while my Mum gave me a leg up despite a very sensitive sore on his withers. He doesn't even stand still for the young girls who ride him!! (btw I rode him bareback and have just had the vet out for the sore it's bieng treated and i made sure i kept my hands well away.)
Anyway I was keeping a close eye on him to make sure he was comfortable but I don't thinki needed to worry!!!
he marched down the road, ears pricked and when i nudged him for trot just to see what he would do he went straight forward at the lightest touch and no struggles
Mum said he looked so happy and i know this sounds really silly please don't think i'm too much of a weirdo
but it as though he was happy that he was giving something back to me after all the years and that i was riding him again
I'm sorry for going on about my self I have just had such a big smile on my face all day
Can i offer you all cupcakes and a lunchtime cocktail
xx
