My mare's coat has grown back and she could do with being clipped again!! I'm going to hold off for another couple of weeks but I've never known it to grow back quite so quickly. Do you think this unseasonably warm weather has got anything to do with it? She is still having seasons as well :-(

Whilst it is very nice to be riding in a t shirt in november, the birds seem a little confused and there are still too many bl@@dy flies around! Mr car said it was 17 degrees outside this morning. So much for the worst winter weather ever. At this rate we will have daffodils in the garden at Christmas.

I gave both my cobs a hunter clip 3 weeks ago and they both still sweat when being ridden. They have only had lightweight rugs so far and we have daisies and buttercups flowering in the field!

It's ridiculous! I only normally clip my cob once a year - this was him in April/May after being clipped in November:

And I will have to clip him again tomorrow, 4 weeks after the last one

My two are the same. I always wait until later to clip so this doesn't usually happen!

I guess the warm weather means that they are still growing their coats - it slowed them down.. That said, we did have a little frost and cold winds last week too, so its hardly tropical!

Very annoying!

Big fuzzy had a high chaser clip done just over 2 weeks ago.
Tonight big Fuzzy is back out & no rugs on as coat has grown so much - and due to the warm spell the paddocks are pretty dry.
The only reason I put BF in overnight 2 weeks ago was the paddocks were a bit slippy & I didn't want the winter paddocks chewed up 24/7

I calculated up that over the past 3 weeks, we have gone from no rugs to LW outdoor rug to MW to thermatex overnight when in, to nothing at all!

Did the irish last week and he seems to be boiling hot just standing around doing nothing! He's got a blanket clip and is living out 24/7 in a lite rug - bizzare

clipped 2 weeks ago - rode today v sweaty horse so have had to bath fully and rug up overnight so clean and un-greasy in morning so can clip again before hunting tuesday !! think this is about my 4th clip ! started with trace then blanket then hunter - this will be second hunter clip !! just hope the blades hold out or could look really odd on Tuesday !!

My TB needs clipping again, usually he only needs doing once!

PS - There are actually daffodils out here already   nearly fell of my horse in shock when I saw them!!

I've already clipped mine 3 times! Had to start early as he was really hairy & sweating loads when ridden, this is a TB that's kept well(appropriately) rugged! I usually clip twice before Xmas & once after. I think at this rate he'll need one more clip before Xmas &,hopefully, just one after Xmas.

Make the most of it, Forecast hover your mouse over the hours down the left of the map to see the forecast, looking to get quite a bit colder in a few days according to this site
