Good evening from the land of draw reins! lol Acctually I'm in Heerlen which is only 15mins of Aachen and acctually not in germany! lol Oh well, been in Aachen all day, slopping on the suncream every 2hrs (although I still have one burnt area
) and I thought some people would like to see some of the pics I took. (i'll try not to put too many on!)
First of the day was a Top scrore obstacle driving comp. No brits but Boyd Excell was in it but we didn't see him
The winners
THE best class EVA! The Jump and drive, one SJ'er from each nation jumped 8 full up fences, threw horse at a groom then had to leg it to a carriage and 4 and do a hybrid marathon/cones course! It was great, only 8 entries but the croud loved it. I have videos but don't want to upload them on hotel internet! Phillip spivey was in it but knocked a pole but Cian O'conner running was friggin hilarious! I don't have many of the jumping as it was down the other end of the arena.
I'm being arty honest, not that the camera was silly or nuttin'
Finally, the big SJ class of the day, a qualifier for the Grand Prix. The first half of the course caused carnage! A double with water trays underneath caused what must of been half a dozen elminations.... including Geoff Billington.... But a british bred horse did well, Billy Burr, getting into the jump off (we didn't stay for the jump off as me and mum were both dying!
Here I think Geoff is describing the size of the water trays... or trying to take off!
