Absolute Dogs puppy farm allegations

Our breed club recently lobbied the KC to have an additional health test recorded - one that members had committed to testing for under the code of ethics for a good while, and the club was maintaining their own records of results, but wanted it logged and appearing on the DNA tests on MyKC. Turned down as there was no evidence that it was a significant problem in the breed. Because they had tested and not let it become one...?! That's two health tests now on my dog that the KC have no interest in recording, but they'd be happy to take the money on the litter registrations if he were used.

So, the KC are a shower of shite at the best of times and I'm loathe to offer any defense really but here I don't think she has, strictly speaking, done anything they don't permit. As mentioned upthread it's very much in their interest for people to breed in volume! Not in their remit if the bitches have had additional litters, so long as she hasn't tried to register them. I've seen a lot of people appalled at their accepting dogs for registration with such high COI but I believe that's a wider problem in cockers anyway, I've been shocked before by the level of line breeding and use of popular sires that seems to be accepted in some circles.

The KC do have restrictions about the number of litters a bitch can have, the top age at which she can breed, and more. There is nothing to stop a bitch having unregistered litters at any age, or maybe registering the pups on the KC Activity Register

26 litters in one year, wtf?! That is crazy and purely a money making enterprise. ☹️

And that's not counting the litters bred by her partner in Absolute Dogs under the Proforza affix , including quite a few "colour not recognised" poodles.

For eg, a litter registered under Devongem affix born Jan 2017, litter from same bitch under Proforza born August 2017

Yes, but if you are LL and want something enough you apply to the KC for exemption from the age limit so that you can breed and register a litter from your 8/9 year old bitch. I guess if you register 750+ pups money talks.

Ideal scenario for them, people not allowed to visit to see pup apart from collecting, and ideally pup delivered by courier.
I bought a pup in lock down, from a breeder I knew, and it was very frustrating but I had almost daily videos, don't imagine that was the case with LL.
 
It looks like the connection with tug-e-nuff has ended. Matthew has resigned from the board and there was a post on Facebook from his brother saying he has not been paid either a salary or dividend from the company since 2018. I’m glad as their sheepskin tuggies are the only thing that will persuade my little delinquent to give me back the dummy when she goes into parading mode.

TM trying to say he knew she bred dogs but wasn't aware of the numbers. Yet he apparently had at least one bitch from her on I presume a breeding loan!
 
It’s an interesting situation, whilst the perpetrators are obviously to blame and the buck stops completely at their doors the KC should be having a massive shake up, did they not see the extra litters being bred, did nothing flag up? What about the inbreeding? And if you have that many KC registered pups is there not the concern that other litters are also being bred, but not registered? Also are there no checks from local council, surely if they issue a licence (I’m really hazy on this, haven’t checked it before typing) they have a duty to ensure it is abided by?
 
So Lauren and Matt ‘step away’ from the company; what does that mean? They continue to draw a salary and dividends but don’t front the show OR resign their directorships and shares? Nothing showing in Companies House as yet.

Am absolutely furious on behalf of a young lady in my village who has spent over a thousand pounds on these people.

The amount of people who say ‘oh yes this person has been doing this for years’, well if you have evidence bows the time…

I do hope people who have had bad experiences will pass the evidence on. I've seen a few posts elsewhere that would be very useful to the powers that be (including screenshots of conversations with LL) but they seem to back pedal when asked to forward the evidence.

I was astounded when it came out that people were not at all surprised and were almost blasé about it.
