I'll start by saying this pony is friggen awesome!!! :D

Took him to Allens Hill today for the BN and disco. He has had time off from jumping for a while and last time we went out BSing was in May so today I felt very thrown in the deep end.

We got there mega late had time for a 10min warm up for the BN and didn't even know the course so quickly learnt some of it and then winged it which seemed to work. Then we got to fence 8 and I almost forgot it but realised last minute to jump it so had to do a bit of a wiggle and got an unlucky pole down. After that I thought I have nothing to lose lets go for it. OMG can this pony move when he wants, we were 10 seconds faster but because of the pole we were out of the placings. I wasn't bothered because he flew and I was loving every second of it. :p

Then we saw the fences go up for the 1m amateur qualifier and the fences went up to make quite a beefy course. All the fences in the jump off were 1.10m and very wide. After this class was over I was very shocked to see the fences go up further for the Discovery!! Some were 1.15 in the jump off and my sister said one was touching 1.20 but I think she was winding me up. The vast majority in the first round were well over 1m though. I think the course builder could do with getting his measuring stick checked. ;)

Anyway close to tears the game plan for this round was to hold on and let Andy do the work as I was bricking it having not jumped him over 1m before. He absolutly flew and tried his heart out for me, this pony is an absolute superstar and was by far the smallest in the class. :p Had another unfortunate pole my fault again so thought we wouldn't be in the placings.

How I was wrong!! We came 2nd!! There was only one double clear lots of poles and stops and Andy was the fastest again so I was very pleased to come home with a frilly and some money which seems like a distant memory.

Rather tall mounting block for Andy! My sister found it quite amusing:

And pictures from BN- keep scrolling across I like the one over the yellow oxer at the end.

Piccies from Disco- definitely buying the one over the red oxer at the end and the yellow and black one is nice as well.

He's making a much better shape over the fences now and is really picking his toes up.

Anyway lots and lots of pats for my clever boy as really today it was all him. :D

CC welcome, I know I didn't ride very tidy today but my main aim was not to die. :o :p

How much air over the red oxer?! Clever pony!

It's nice to see you not hanging on to him too, you reins were practically slack at one point in the vid! He wen't really well, credit to you :)

Can't see the vid or pics as my Blackberry is ridiculous but well done! I always read your posts and think you are such a fab combination. Big pats for Andy and a big high five to you, you are much braver than me! Just plucking up the courage to join BS and start the tiddly ones!x

Thanks everyone! I think I'll let him go forward more often it's much more fun than holding him back! :D

Way too much air over that oxer! He's going to give me heart failure! :p

Well done :)
They always build massive at Allens Hill, I don't think I've ever jumped a course there that was the correct height  Looks like you both really enjoyed it though.

Thank you all. :D
Yep enjoyed today very much and has proven to me that he is ready to start jumping 1.05m consistently now. :)

I never knew how big they built there but will keep it in mind for the future, definitely not somewhere to go to build confidence! :p

Does Chris (who used to own/ run gracelands) still build the courses there?

He always did like a challenging course!!!

This reminds me that tbs can jump and I really should put a little more effort into that side of p's education.

V x

Thanks everyone!! :)

We have decided to buy 3 as they have a special offer atm. :D

He is looking very well obviously his 3 months of hacking and flatwork have done him very good, still can't believe no one wants to loan him.

He's only recently got really snappy I think the hacking has helped a lot and I've been trying to improve my balance so I don't throw him off. :)

Thanks somethingorother! Who would have thought a quirky little TB would regain my confidence? :p

I'm going to oz for a year and as much as I would love to take him with me it's not going to happen until I win the lottery. :p So currently looking for someone to come and share him until I go and then take him on full time once I've left. Haven't had any serious enquiries so far all I've got are kids just out of a riding school and he's too sharp for them. :(

He's one hell of a talented pony! Theres not many with a jump like that, be picky who you get for him because he's a star.
Well done you as well, your really in balance and going with him :).

Thank you gingernut and firewell. :)
Glad you think I'm in balance with him I've been working really hard on that.

I'm going to be very picky about who he goes to, if I can't find a good home I'm not going out ther and will do my gap year in cornwall and take him with me. :)

well done koko, youve come a hell of a long way with him, and its all down to you and your hard work!
I have to admit though that when i saw the thread title i thought it was andy's 'bull poo' (BS)report and i was wondering what the little bugger had been up to now!

Thanks cuppatea, I feel very proud of the little guy. :)

As for the BS *touch wood* he has been on his best behaviour lately but we're going up in the woods tomorrow where the lions and bears live so may be in different mood then. :p

Can't watch vid but the pics are awesome! You look such a good team and must be very proud!

Now I just need a duplicate of you with guts like that to jump my boy! :D

Wow you're looking great together! I really enjoy reading your posts and its so nice to see you and andy looking so in tune with each other.

I wish i was as brave as you, i can just about manage 80cm without crying at the minute:rolleyes:

Congrats on the frilly and big pats to the very clever pingy pony! xx

I don't know if you've seen my pics on facebook but I've got an absolute gentleman that I'd tried to part loan out. Great for hacking but steps up to the plate and can jump a 1.30 course.... not a single decent enquiry. I think as soon as you mention the word 'Thoroughbred' people run for the hills.

The vid and photo's look fab, he's flying round that course!!

Brilliant well done! I always look out fro you posts to see how Andy is getting on.

Made me a bit nervous though going to AH on the 28th for my 1st BS comp and knowing the beef up the courses has me sweating a bit

He is totally unrecognisable from how he was when you first got him! You have done an amazing job with him and he is just flying round the jumps! Well done!

^^^ Exactly this :) I know you got a lot of flack when he looked poor but he is looking great and you are a fab combo. Well done you :D
