I'll start by saying this pony is friggen awesome!!!
Took him to Allens Hill today for the BN and disco. He has had time off from jumping for a while and last time we went out BSing was in May so today I felt very thrown in the deep end.
We got there mega late had time for a 10min warm up for the BN and didn't even know the course so quickly learnt some of it and then winged it which seemed to work. Then we got to fence 8 and I almost forgot it but realised last minute to jump it so had to do a bit of a wiggle and got an unlucky pole down. After that I thought I have nothing to lose lets go for it. OMG can this pony move when he wants, we were 10 seconds faster but because of the pole we were out of the placings. I wasn't bothered because he flew and I was loving every second of it.
Then we saw the fences go up for the 1m amateur qualifier and the fences went up to make quite a beefy course. All the fences in the jump off were 1.10m and very wide. After this class was over I was very shocked to see the fences go up further for the Discovery!!
Some were 1.15 in the jump off and my sister said one was touching 1.20 but I think she was winding me up. The vast majority in the first round were well over 1m though. I think the course builder could do with getting his measuring stick checked.
Anyway close to tears the game plan for this round was to hold on and let Andy do the work as I was bricking it having not jumped him over 1m before. He absolutly flew and tried his heart out for me, this pony is an absolute superstar and was by far the smallest in the class.
Had another unfortunate pole my fault again so thought we wouldn't be in the placings.
How I was wrong!! We came 2nd!! There was only one double clear lots of poles and stops and Andy was the fastest again so I was very pleased to come home with a frilly and some money which seems like a distant memory.
Rather tall mounting block for Andy! My sister found it quite amusing:

Piccies from Disco- definitely buying the one over the red oxer at the end and the yellow and black one is nice as well.

He's making a much better shape over the fences now and is really picking his toes up.
Anyway lots and lots of pats for my clever boy as really today it was all him.
CC welcome, I know I didn't ride very tidy today but my main aim was not to die.
