I would sell the horse you cannot ride
I agree here, kind of a 'better the devil you know' situation. Can you start riding your youngster soon? Then you’ll know if he suits you.
I believe that you find the cob to be very comfortable to ride? Comfort is very important to you due to your health issues, and you won’t know how the youngster suits you ridden till you try, however much you like him from the ground.
I think there is a marriage break up involved but whatever the reasons I feel really sorry for her as she is a really lovely lady and I know she won't be doing this lightly. My friend is not in a position to buy him either and to be honest she wouldn't want to really. I'm going to try to figure it out but I also have to be super sensible in terms of ensuring the welfare of my other animals by not over compromising my finances.
She's just offered me a payment plan so there are options but it is probably not the most sensible option.
I'm stuck as, while I never intended for him to be returned, knowing he could be if the shit hit the fan etc has been part of the appeal of loaning esp given that I own one already.
I'm going to spend the rest of the day having a really good think about my options. And of course, Im going to have to do some real soul searching for what is the right thing for all concerned ?
personally I think it would be too much to take on finacially. You sold him for a reason and I expect your situation hasn’t changed. I’m sure he’ll go to someone nice
There's a good market for even the most evil Shetland at the moment. God knows whyThanks for the replies, it's helpful to have other people's views.
I have definitely decided that committing financially to both is not going to work. I had him on loan happily (and would very much carry on with this arrangement if it were possible) knowing that, should finances change, I could hand him back. Being entirely responsible for both would be very foolish in my position I feel.
I just can't stump up the cash upfront and it's not a huge amount which concerns me in itself....what if something went wrong..???
Plus I'm also co owner of a Mini Shitland that nobody of sane mind or body would hand over real cash for. He's a bitey humbug coloured gobshite and alround general twat..!!! We love him, though I literally have no comprehension as to why ???
There are so many pros and cons for each of these boys, either way it's going to be awful
Well also if the owner needs to sell for financial reasons they need the money in.Never a good idea with a living animal in case something happens IMO
I think you might be confusing me with someone else...I've never owned this horse. I've had him on loan for just over a year x
